ESET Staff Solution J.J. 26 Posted May 2, 2014 ESET Staff Solution Share Posted May 2, 2014 Hello guys, Do you have enabled root account? This issue is probably caused because you don’t have set root account. It is not enabled in Ubuntu by default. I recommend to run terminal. In terminal enter command sudo passwd root , you will be requested to enter root password. Please choose root password wisely and don’t forget it. Than run installer again, when request for authentication appears enter password you choose for root account. You can find more information here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo

rencounter 0
It seems installing gksu from Ubuntu Software Center works as well. If you enable root account, input root password, and if you install gksu, input user password. gksu is not installed into Ubuntu14.04 by default. Octavian 5
Eset Nod32 antivirus for linux was not upgraded for a long time, it is necessary to upgrade (v5 launch) and to add firewall, antispam etc. for better protection.
SweX 871
Eset Nod32 antivirus for linux was not upgraded for a long time, it is necessary to upgrade (v5 launch) and to add firewall, antispam etc. for better protection. One can't compare this product to ESET Smart Security, or ESET Cyber Security Pro for OS X wich are "security suites" having additional features like Firewalls. ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 for Linux is not a "suite" product, the equivalent for the Windows platform is ESET NOD32 Antivirus wich also does not have a firewall, antispam etc...customers may chose to use the Win OS firewall with it or some other 3'rd party firewall. Same with ESET Cyber Security.

Arakasi 549
Yes, may be firewall, antispam, etc. it is not strictly necessary but version need to be upgraded to reinforce security. Upgrading doesn't necessary mean its security is getting better. What do you think needs to be reinforced by this upgrade you are speaking of for security purposes?
