  1. I am a big fan of ESET for long time and it recalls me Chromium issue. They took a few years to fix the issue. Home Linux version is an abandoned child.
  2. I am not sure if I understand your question correctry, but in my case I installed ESET on Ubuntu14.04 after installing gksu (use user pass word) OR enabling root accont by "sudo passwd root" command (use root pass word) to prevent “su: Authentication failure”
  3. It seems installing gksu from Ubuntu Software Center works as well. If you enable root account, input root password, and if you install gksu, input user password. gksu is not installed into Ubuntu14.04 by default.
