  1. Hi Chris! Do you mean other security software, or software in general like any other software?
  2. OK, then I say. President Obama feel free to PM me
  3. Alright then I'm sure the wait won't be long. Though you could actually renew you're license now, but keep your current version installed as the password and username is the same when renewing and the software will feel that via the license server checks that you renewed and the expire date will change in the GUI shortly after you have gone through the process, and then simply get V7 when it's released in your language, or English etc etc...just a suggestion.
  4. Hello and welcome to the Forum! Yes V6 is stable, though I currently use the V7 BETA that also is very stable, and the final of V7 has infact already been officialy released in some parts of Europe, like Germany to name one. So my suggestion would be to stick with the version you have installed and then go straight for V7 once it's released wich shouldn't be that far into the future. See this thread for more info about V7 and release schedule: https://forum.eset.com/topic/1049-eset-v7-final-released-in-germany/
  5. Thanks for the info Aryeh, then I have to wait a bit longer to get a version where my bug is said to be fixed. I was actually hoping to be able to test it before the final was released.
  6. Hi, I have had that happen to me too one time on this forum, very annoying. But on other forums I have got logged out after clicking on the submit/post button. So, since a couple of years ago I have started a good habit of copying all of the text right before I click on the post button, just incase something bad would happen, getting logged out, or text disappearing for some reason. Then I can just paste in the text and try to post again. Without the need to write everything all over. Just a tip I actually do that a lot, but I forgot to this time. I usually copy my post to notepad. Yea, i've seen many similar issues with other forums. Great to hear i'm not alone doing this Oh please don't remind me, I forgot to copy earlier today myself
  7. How old is the computer? What are your system specs? Computer brand is ZT, purchased in 1/2010. Processor is i7-920, 12gb memory, 1.0tb & 0.3tb disks; Win7 Home Prem (64-bit) with latest updates; NOD32 v6. Old? Wow, then I will not tell you my specs. That's still a very capable PC you have there IMO! Instead of worrying about that your old PC (wich isn't old at all) is about to turn itself in.... I would submit the data that you were able to capture to ESET and let them have a look.
  8. Oh wow, that would be a big project considering that I don't speak German I will use a translator and send you the most interesting bits in a PM. Apparently they have some kind of Patent for the new Exploit Blocker in V7. Only that sounds interesting! I really hope they can share some details on how it differs from other stand-alone exploit protection programs like Malwarebytes Anti-exploit, and/or from similar features in other products on the market
  9. hxxp://www.eset.com/de/about/press/releases/article/eset-veroeffentlicht-eset-nod32-antivirus-und-eset-smart-security-in-version-7/ So I guess we will not see the new BETA build that were mentioned a while back ? In anycase I think many wonders when the English release will take place?
  10. Yes I agree with every word, even though I think most in here know that already, and lucky Arakasi that got to meet up with the company. I am not jealous at all

  12. yes this is true but i was having network issues and bluescreens with avast.i gave the new comodo plenty of chances but it was becoming too bloated and heavy. It sounds strange i know but i instantly liked eset when i installed plus it is more friendlier to my computer. I see, and I fully understand, that's never funny. No, I don't think it's strange at all that you started to like ESET as fast as you did. That's such a positive reaction I love to see from new users after that I have used ESET for so many years
  13. Welcome welcome. Tell me one thing that one doesn't learn over at Wilders Thanks for the welcome SweX. It was at Wilders I got my first introduction to Eset. There was a software giving of different security products. I won a prize of Eset anti-virus. I then took out a 2 or 3 year subscription of my own. I think I then reverted to freebies. That must be 10 or more years ago. The product has very much improved since then. Yes Wilders was a good home for ESET and it's users, but this ain't bad either
  14. Hello sorry to hear about your problem, I don't work for ESET just so you know, but I have always got the email a couple of minutes after I have renewed my license. Did you check so it didn't end up in your "spam" folder, sometimes it can do that even if it shouldn't? And are you sure you wrote in your e-mail adress correctly (I always double check), so it wasn't sent to some other adress? In any case, I am sure we can get our issue sorted ASAP. Edit: could also be useful for ESET to know from what website you bought your license.
  15. I must honestly say, I never thought I would see a comment like this from you, you have only switched between Avast and Comodo back and forth as long as I can remember.....no sorry Kaspersky was in there too somewhere....but not anymore it seems. I am happy because you are happy
  16. Welcome welcome. Tell me one thing that one doesn't learn over at Wilders
  17. Hi Darren! I'm very well, hope you are too. And i'm happy that you find your way over here.
  18. It has been asked before see the thread below for some answers. https://forum.eset.com/topic/915-eset-7-final-release/ When it's ready is usually the best answer, ESET has a good habit to not rush new versions out. FWIW. First a new BETA is due to be released very soon, and after that maybe another BETA, or an RC we'll have to wait and see.
  19. Before you update to V6, be sure to uninstall V5 with the uninstaller to prevent that the issues you have with V5 comes along if you would install over the top. This is what I always do if I am having issues with a version. Uninstall -> Fresh install
  20. Ah what the heck, I just wright "I agree" or "I disagree" until we get some thumbs in here.
  21. Great to hear that! Sending the link to Marcos in a PM will be fine. FYI, my svchost.exe issue was NOT connected to ESET, but I was told that it was a known problem when it comes to Win updates on XP. Good thing is that I have not had the issue since the day I was able to download the latest Win updates around a week ago, so, so far so good.
  22. Right, I just wanted to make sure since the smiley you used sometimes means that one were sarcastic. In any case I actually miss thumbup and thumbdown icons.
  23. I always do that to avoid the possibility with modules not loading right etc etc....It's worth the extra time IMO.
