  1. This sounds like the same issue myself and lionkng123 had in this topic: https://forum.eset.com/topic/5549-issues-with-eset-smart-security-8x-in-win-10/ I have mentioned some steps there on what to do after installation that worked for us, see if it helps you as well.
  2. Wanted to mention that I actually made a topic about the iCloud setup issue a week or two ago with no response: https://forum.eset.com/topic/5420-cyber-security-and-pro-preventing-mail-from-being-enabled-in-icloud-preferences/ In the future, you can boot into 'safe boot' by holding down shift during the Apple chime and setup works perfectly there (as there are no ESET processes/modules running) instead of uninstalling. I can't use 6.0.14.3 as it's causing the exact same freezes and issues again that 6.0.14.0 fixed. More specifically: Surfing freezes in Safari: https://forum.eset.com/topic/2937-surfing-freezes-–-version-6/?p=30991 Web & Anti-Phishing protection randomly stops working until restart: https://forum.eset.com/topic/3637-web-anti-phishing-protection-randomly-stops-working-until-restart/?p=30966 Random freezes and crashes by esets_daemon (which includes the 'Cannot connect to /tmp/esets.sock: Connection refused' issue that was previously fixed): https://forum.eset.com/topic/3552-random-freezes-and-crashes-by-esets-daemon/?p=30963 Not sure what is going on.
  3. Unfortunately I've started to experience this issue again in 6.0.14.3.
  4. Wanted to quickly mention that this is still occurring with 6.0.14.3 and OS X 10.10.4. Updated link for the "Features Setting Check - Phishing Page" by the AMTSO for testing since original post: hxxp://www.amtso.org/feature-settings-check-phishing-page/
  5. Unfortunately, these issues with esets_daemon have come back for me since the recent release of 6.0.14.3 - exactly the same as previously mentioned on this topic. Two days in a row now after installing, so far happening when trying to use Safari.
  6. Just a note that the shutdown issue isn't resolved in the release of version 6.0.14.3.
  7. I faced both the exact same issues and did this as a workaround - after installation of Smart Security: Go into the properties for the Network Adapter you use for the Internet, uncheck ESET's one and apply settings. This will allow the computer to connect to the Network/Internet again for now. Activate the product and let Smart Security fully update. Go back to the Network Adapter properties and turn back on ESET's one. Restart (not shut down) Windows 10. This should resolve both the firewall service and Internet issue. Seems that the ESET entry in the Network Adapter properties after installation is the cause for the Network/Internet not working, and either an update or a restart resolves it somehow. Not sure if that is also linked to the firewall service but that is also resolved once restarted and/or updated.
  8. I updated Smart Security to the latest that supports Windows 10 first, rebooted, then performed the upgrade without disabling or turning off anything and it worked fine.
  9. Great to see you on the forums again, Arakasi!
  10. Review includes ESET Cyber Security Pro (ECSP) for OS X, version 6.0.14.0 (2014). PDF: hxxp://www.av-comparatives.org/mac-security-review-test-2015/
  11. It's difficult. I'm just a regular ESET user who has reported issues, suggestions and feedback including the OS X home user range such as this shutdown issue. That's all I can do as it's up to ESET to decide what to do with that information, even if I have to keep experiencing it on all Macs with ECS/ECSP so far.
  12. I did have a go last year when I noticed the issue (and just tried it again now by altering the 'ExitTimeOut' to 10 seconds from its default 65 seconds), but it still didn't change the shutdown duration for me. I think this is because although the plist file is named with the process 'esets_daemon', in the file it actually is for a different process, esets_ctl. It's probably best to wait until ESET releases the major ECS/ECSP update around El Capitan's release soon.
  13. Searching online regarding this issue, quite a few other users have been also experiencing the same issue as you and found that upgrading to OS X 10.10.3 resolved this for one recent user. I noticed you were running 10.10.2 based on your screenshot and the most recent version is 10.10.4. I would switch back to regular updates as the Safari issue for the blank pages should no longer occur, and also upgrade the Macs to 10.10.4 and see if that resolves it for you. You do mention that it's only with ESS v6 installed, but I would give this a go first and then explore options if ESS is to blame.
  14. Marcos mentioned this over in the Beta section of the Forums. ESET Smart Security v8 will still be the current stable release and v9 will still be in beta but both are supporting Windows 10 when it is publicly released from the 29th of July (excluding devices supposedly already available to purchase with Windows 10 RTM pre-installed to the public).
  15. Good news, Microbe is now displaying the correct product, amount of years and devices for renewal! So now previous pro1 and current Microbe users can successfully renew with them without an issue. I'm glad to see the automatic renewal process functional again from both ESET's website and Microbe's renewal page. You would still need to contact ESET Australia directly if you wish to switch to them instead, but that's a personal choice.
  16. Noticed a particular issue with Cyber Security (and Pro) when trying to setup iCloud on Yosemite. If a user has ECS or ECSP installed and attempts to setup iCloud in System Preferences at some point, trying to turn on 'Mail' gets stuck and times out with an error to 'try again later' but never is able to do so. Disabling Real-time File System Protection and/or Network Traffic Filtering does not help. However, restarting OS X into Safe Boot (holding down shift while turning the Mac on) and enabling iCloud's Mail from there works successfully without a problem as there are no ESET instances running.
  17. I've never come across this. If I disable protection via the tray icon menu, all protection modules will be disabled. If I re-enable it via the same menu, all protection modules will be enabled (all of them turn green in gui). This happened to me on the first install of the beta shortly after public release (with Windows 7 SP1 32-bit), however after uninstalling (using the removal tool) and installing again it functioned correctly. No idea why it did that the first time.
  18. Marcos was trying to say that all of the fixes for Cyber Security Pro (and Cyber Security) will be done in one single release in time for supporting the new OS X 'El Capitan' coming out later in the year (most likely in October). I did report this shutdown issue along with others since the release of version 6.0.14.0 last year, which you can view all on this topic to see what is planned to be fixed (although not official) including the shutdown issue mentioned in this topic. The CPU usage is most likely the scan that runs after a successful update (so it is usual behaviour but shouldn't noticeably impact performance from experience, you can adjust it in the Scheduler settings within the program if you decide to use ECSP in the future). I'm not really sure why they haven't released a small fix for this issue previously (that's already fixed in the new release of Endpoint Security for OS X earlier in the year), but at this point in time I can see why ESET would now want to wait for a few months so they can release one large update instead of a smaller update now and another update in only a few months again... however shutting down the mac and having ECSP delay it by approx. 60 seconds instead of the usual few seconds can be quite frustrating.
  19. AdwareMedic was a great free tool for a very quick scan (only 10 or so seconds) of common Adware/PUP, so seeing it now with Malwarebytes is great news!
  20. If you are running the latest version of Cyber Security Pro (6.0.14.0), the uninstaller has been relocated to the 'Helpers' folder instead of the Resources folder mentioned above. Alternatively, if you still have the downloaded dmg file you installed Cyber Security Pro with, you can open it and launch the uninstaller from there.
  21. Updates that have failed do appear in the 'Events' log, under the 'ESET Daemon' module and entries begin with 'Error updating Antivirus modules:', although there is no logging for successful updates (you could view in the update section the 'Last successful update' entry to see the last time it was updated, or else you receive the 'Update is not necessary' message). An option to also view successful updates along with the failed entries would be nice, like what Smart Security has.
  22. At the moment, you currently have a slightly coloured background added to posts made by ESET Staff, Moderators and Administrators inside topics. Could the forum possibly colour the username itself (very subtly so it doesn't look distracting) on the forum home page and within sections (home, business, beta, etc.) for users to quickly indicate that a Staff member, Moderator or an Administrator has replied or posted to the topic aside from regular users?
  23. Is the issue still occurring after having the 'Internet protection module' updated to 1173.9 (20150617) and then restarting OS X? If so, are there any websites you can provide for examples to see if I can reproduce the issue?
  24. Hi gringo90, If you are using Cyber Security Pro, you will be asked to disable OS X's built in firewall to avoid possible conflicts and issues that may occur having two firewalls running at the same time. Cyber Security Pro already has rules for VPN that allows these connections by default, so ideally it should already allow you to use your VPN without any issues. Is there anything specifically for the VPN and Cyber Security Pro that you are having any trouble or concerns with?
  25. Hello, You've created this topic in the Cyber Security Pro section of the forums but it looks like you're using either a really outdated version as the current products available for Home users are Cyber Security (like NOD32) and Cyber Security Pro (includes Firewall and Parental Control), and for Business users Endpoint Antivirus (like NOD32) and Endpoint Security. All current versions above use the ESET logo in the menu bar which looks much cleaner and supports retina displays too. Current Endpoint products are more recently updated at the moment so they have the animations (the spinning you mentioned and alert graphics with the logo instead of the coloured circles (mostly green) in the current home products (but I assume the home products will also get the same improvement in the next release). I would suggest using the latest version of what you have licensed - if it's the home version of NOD32 for Mac then it is now Cyber Security (6.0.14.0). If you are not able to use the latest version or for any another reason, there is a product available called 'Bartender' which allows you to rearrange all menu bar items and hide ones you don't wish to see (or only show when the icon is different).
