  1. Hi zopper, This is a known issue with 6.1.12.0 since its release and ESET have been working on a fix along with other ones too (see issues mentioned here). Unfortunately there is no long term workaround for this, unless ECSP is uninstalled or ESET releases an update.
  2. Sorry 21jags, I meant that ESET or IP.Board are using a blacklist and they may possibly have those IP's in it. Still unable to access the forums on the mobile network here.
  3. Hi Liney, Have you tried printing with the Firewall disabled? Is Device Control turned off (should be by default)? Have you restarted OS X after installation? What version of OS X and Cyber Security Pro do you have?
  4. Hi Chris, do you have any external drives attached to your iMac, including a Time Machine drive?
  5. The same message appears for what I explained earlier, and I mentioned a possible blacklist as the message says "You are not allowed to visit this community." even though there is no account signed in. I cannot use the forums on my mobile, as the IP range used shows this error.
  6. It seems that when I shut down (fast boot) and turn on the PC, the issue is more likely to occur but when I restart, the frame and banner reappears and works for a while. Could this be an issue with fast boot/hibernation and Banking Protection's border/banner? Edit: Or it could be working because of a recent module update, not sure.
  7. The problem has come back again recently, no green border or 'Protected by ESET' banner. Driver is running.
  8. I'm unable to access the forum using our country's biggest Telco on mobile devices, same error, seems like our IP range been blacklisted? Perhaps your ISP @21jags also has an IP range blacklisted on the forums?
  9. I noticed for newer purchases on Multi-Device there are now two product keys issued, one for computers and one for mobile devices. That way the limits are definitely in place. I still have the older method of just the one product key for multi-device, and I have also accidentally done this. At least it's resolved for future licenses. Edit: I should mention that this change to two individual keys may be region specific.
  10. You were right vzrod639, a simple repair of Smart Security and restarting Windows 10 resolved the issue. Thank you.
  11. That's really unusual... Cyber Security Pro doesn't have any way of entering any account information to sign in in the first place, and I have three other devices signed in (two Windows PCs with Smart Security, one Android for Mobile Security) and none of those device's phantom users appear on the Mac, they have never appeared on my other Mac either.
  12. There are some phishing/unwanted emails on your Gmail that ESET keeps detecting but Mail.app keeps redownloading it from Gmail. I would either go into gmail.com and manually delete the detected email(s) and empty them from the bin so Mail.app stops redownloading it, or you can set an exclusion like we did with Time Machine for your email so ESET stops detecting it. This would be an exclusion for '/Users/(username)/Library/Mail/', replacing (username) with your user folder name.
  13. Sophos have been creating their security solution for a long time now, and is the go-to product for Mac users who want free protection because of how simple, lightweight and reliable it is. Avira doesn't have that same 'recommendation', but it could good - I personally haven't tried it on OS X.
  14. There are different opinions and views about having a security product installed on OS X, some people say not to bother as Apple implements their own methods, and others say to add an additional layer to protect you from further exploits, Gatekeeper bypasses, etc. I would personally have the additional security product installed, but it is up to you. If you will have a security product installed, I suggest installing ESET Cyber Security or Sophos Home (once again up to you if you want paid vs free), leave it on the default settings, and: if it is ESET, set your Network location and remember it (if using the Pro version), then set the Time Machine exclusions as described before. Then you can just leave it in the background and not worry about it. if it is Sophos, run an update from the menu bar, set the Time Machine exclusions on the Dashboard, then leave Sophos in the background. If either ESET or Sophos detects anything, it will sort it out by itself and only ask you if it needs to.
  15. Is there any other folder (possibly that name) in 'Macintosh HD/Users/' other than your own, Guest (if used) and Shared?
  16. I recently noticed that the Banking & Payment Protection isn't showing a green border or the 'Protected by ESET' banner on the top of Google Chrome (64-bit) version 49.0.2623.110 on Windows 10. Using regular updates on ESS 9.0.375.0. It still opens the window (either manually from the Start Menu or automatically redirected) and shows the special ESET page, and previously it usually doesn't show the green border, but I've never had the 'Protected by ESET' banner not appear before. Is this happening to anyone else?
  17. You're welcome @frocco, glad to have answered your questions. Hope you enjoy the remainder of your trial with ESET.
  18. I'm not experiencing issues with Spotify and Cyber Security Pro at the moment, are you running OS X 10.11.4 and ECSP 6.1.12.0? Have you tried turning off the option to automatically open Spotify after login, and/or turning off the option to allow Spotify to be opened from the web (In Spotify > Preferences... > Show Advanced Settings)? Are you using any other apps for Spotify? Have you tried re-downloading and re-installing the Spotify client? If you are still having the issue, you can send the output to ESET Support by opening Cyber Security > Help > and click 'Online form' under Customer Care which should automatically redirect you to an online form for sending to support (as you can attach a file). I would still run the tool after force quitting anyway, it may still be beneficial for them. Local ESET support office simply means your nearest or closest ESET support office (eg. If you're in the USA, you will get support from ESET USA; UK will get support from ESET UK, etc).
  19. Does this happen after updating to OS X 10.11.4? Are you using the latest version of Cyber Security, 6.1.12.0 (You can download the latest version here: hxxp://www.eset.com/download/home/detail/family/29/) Do you have a Time Machine connected to your Mac (If so, set the exclusions following the steps outlined here: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3263/?locale=en_US)? Are you able to see what it was trying to last scan just before it freezes or crashes? Do you have any other device connected to your Mac while trying to scan?
  20. Is this still happening for you? It does not sound like normal behaviour. What domain/url are you taken to for the ESET homepage when visiting hxxp://www.eset.com and selecting your location?
  21. I'm not too sure that this user is created as I have Parental Controls on and I'm still the only user listed in the Privileges section, plus I couldn't find anyone else with this same user when doing a Google search so it is a little bizarre. Does this user still appear after updating to 10.11.4 and restarting OS X? Do you have any third-party tools that would require an additional user?
  22. Interesting that Removable Media Blocking was enabled by default for you after upgrading, it is usually turned off by default. But yes, always good to double check what's turned on every once in a while, especially after an upgrade. Same goes for OS X upgrades as well, sometimes things we turned off get turned back on again (eg. iCloud Drive apps, Game Centre, etc.)
  23. This is because Email protection only supports accounts using POP3 and IMAP without secure connections at the moment (these days everyone uses secure connections, also recognised as SSL), however you will still be protected by the real-time protection when viewing emails, and Mail.app has Junk mail filtering built in (you can enable it by going to Mail > Preferences.. > Junk Mail > Enable junk mail filtering).
  24. In this situation it is okay as the threats are not on your Mac itself - as soon as you copy/restore something back to your Mac from the Time Machine device, ESET should block and resolve the threat on your Mac immediately because of the real-time protection.
  25. Please stop the scan and create an exclusion for your Time Machine as ESET does not need to scan your Time Machine device, following the instructions here: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3263/?locale=en_US If you like, you can then start another scan in-depth which should be much faster as it should avoid your Time Machine device. Hopefully Cyber Security (and Pro) will automatically exclude Time Machine devices by default in future releases. I went into detail in an older topic about Time Machine and ESET which you can view here: https://forum.eset.com/topic/4060-still-scanning-after-24-hours To see the threats in detail after a scan is complete, go into Tools > Log files > and select 'Computer scan'. Double click on a scan to see a very detailed log. Otherwise, you can select the 'Detected threats' log for specific individual threats found.
