chetankb1 2 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Hi, How can I block websites using ESET Web Control feature with proxy connection enabled on the clients??
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted August 9, 2016 Administrators Posted August 9, 2016 As long as you have the proxy configured properly under Tools -> Proxy server and ESET receives responses to DNS TXT queries, there's no reason why it wouldn't work.
chetankb1 2 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Hi, I have configured proxy setting under tool option, still it didn't work. Is there anything else I need to check? Please help!
tmuster2k 22 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 The proxy does not have anything to do with sites being blocked. Are you blocking via just URL or categories? Are the sites you are trying to block HTTPS? If so then SSL scanning would need to be enabled which unfortunately can lead to other issues.
chetankb1 2 Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Hi, As I observed, blocking work perfectly on the machine without proxy connection.I have tried both URL & Categories and HTTP & HTTPS.
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted August 15, 2016 Administrators Posted August 15, 2016 Web control performs a DNS net check to determine the category of a website so if you use a proxy it must be configured in the advanced setup -> Tools -> Proxy server. Also the program must receive responses to DNS TXT queries for website categorization to work.
chetankb1 2 Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Hi, Proxy Sever setting has been already configured. How to check this ---"Also the program must receive responses to DNS TXT queries for website categorization to work"
