How to set up ESET

Recommended Posts

I know this has been asked before, please forgive me.

Just came back to Nod32 after a few year using another suite.

I know there was once a thread as to properly setting up (and not just using default).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Hello mphcpa. I seem to recall something like what you mentioned, so I looked around the past couple of years in the forum and found the following topics. Unsure if it's what you want. Maybe one of the moderators can help you further.

I'd suggest using default settings, just make sure that you don't disable LiveGrid during installation in order to receive maximum protection.

Thanks..

.

I has to uninstall as there was a conflict with my WIFI (hardwired and wireless). Many times I could not connect and when it did it was slow and no pictures downloaded. I have a pretty much identical Surface Pro 3 which has Norton on it and there are no problems. That is an i5 with 8gb of ram while the machine with the problem (running ESET) was and I5 with 4 gig of ram. Other than a few accounting programs they run the same programs and apps.

It'd be good if you could install ESS again and enable pre-release updates to test it with the latest version of modules available.

Should the problem persist, try disabling the firewall (via gui) and protocol filtering (in the main setup), one at a time, to narrow it down. Also provide more info about the OS and platform.
