Trying to install ESET Internet Security and having nothing but problems

Recommended Posts

I recently installed Eset IS on a new computer.  I originally installed the trial but never finished the setup because I didnt have my code on me.  I registered later using my code and the install didnt take.

The uninstall option was disabled so I attempted to repair the install.  Choosing modify then repair, it runs some then insists that I "Please insert the disk"  with no way out except cancelling. I then chose remove from the modify menu.

Next I tried reinstalling and the update was taking forever and pings to update.eset.com were not consistent.  i then downloaded the full offline install and installed that, except that after it was installed it insisted on downloading more modules even though it was a full offline install.

So now I waited the hour or more for it to install the update and there are a bunch of problems with the install:

Eset insists a computer restart is required even though I have I have turned off fast startup and restarted multiple times.

HIPS shows as non functional

Firewall non functional

IDS non functional

Botnet protection non functional

I dont know where to go from here as nothing in this product seems to work so far, updates broken, modules non functional, repair that doesnt work.

After messing with this for half a day I need some solid advice to get this going again as Ive already paid for the product.  Thanks.

1, Please run the Uninstall tool in safe mode to remove possible leftovers: https://support.eset.com/en/uninstall-eset-manually-using-the-eset-uninstaller-tool

2, Install the latest version of the ESET product.

3, Should the installation fail, please provide logs collected with ESET Log Collector: https://support.eset.com/en/how-do-i-use-eset-log-collector
