can't update sigs - "unauthorized access"

Recommended Posts

Installed Remote Administrator Agent and File Security for Windows (32-bit) on a 2008 server.  Install ran OK, was able to install license, authorize product; it checks in with the ESET server.  But when it tries to update the virus signature database, it errors out, saying "unauthorized access."  User is listed at NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM.

I have 14 of these same servers, identical to one another, and for some reason, three of them behave this way.  I checked file permissions on ESET dirs and they were the same, working server to non-working server.  Any idea where this problem comes from?

Couldn't it be that you attempt to update ESET from a network share and not from ESET's servers or via http?

We had the same problem with the new ESET 6.5. On our side it was a firewall problem (Sophos). Let the server connect to the WWW one time + connect to a http page (no https) after this all our server update regular. If you update over WWW controll if you have all exclusions hxxp://support.eset.com/kb332/?locale=en_US

i think there is a problem with https in the actual version.

i hope it helps :)
