6.5 and Windows 1703

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've done a clean install of Windows 10 x64 1703 and endpoint 6.5 installed fine. On a separate PC I've done an upgrade from 1607 to 1703 and endpoint 6.5 was removed. Is that expected behaviour? I have read the 6.6. notes which elude to a fix for this, but I'm just wondering if I should defer our upgrades to 1703 until we've been able to push out 6.6.

Many thanks

Jim

Hi
I updated Windows 10 from 1607 to 1703 with Eset Endpoint Security 6.5 installed and ESET was not uninstalled.
Only then did I update ESET from 6.5 to 6.6 and encountered problems:
1. free booting of Windows 10 1703 [version 6.5 was working smoothly].
2. Device Control issue - despite the existence of a logon policy used devices [read / write - log only] mode.
I reported the above issues and most likely this module has been updated, but at the restructure it causes bluescren.
Also missing this module in the list:
Advanced antispam module: 5395 (20170418)
Rapid Response module: 9873 (20170418)
Malware database: 15272 (20170418)

Firewall module: 1356 (20170412)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1515 (20170330)
ESET SysInspector module: 1269 (20170321)
Internet protection module: 1302 (20170316)
Archive support module: 1262 (20170316)
Cleaner module: 1132 (20170315)
Anti-Stealth support module: 1108 (20170310)

Hello Jim,

our QA guys tried to reproduce the issue, you mentioned but without success :-(

the EP 6.5 survived the upgrade from 1607 to 1703.

Are you able to reproduce the issue?

Regards, P.R.

Hi @Peter Randziak

I'll have to bump this topic.

Upon upgrading an old WIndows 10 Pro computer from 1511 to 1703 or 1607 (WIth only ESET remote admin agent installed on version 6.3.XXX

upgrading the agent required uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the web console.

installing ESET Endpoint AV at the latest version (6.5.2094) caused the windows to freeze for long period.

when it was finished the following issues occured:

1. ESET wasn't reported in the add remove programs.

2. didn't work automatically and was reported by windows if i "trust this application\vendor" Which everytime I confirmed, the message remained and didn't get dismissed.

3 After trying a full fresh install of windows 10 (something didn't go well with reinstalling no matter how many I tried.) I see ESET on add remove programs, but that allow publisher keeps popping + the tray icon doesn't appear.

*update*
Looks like there is such issue at hand already and a hotfix is being at work

Hello Avielc,

we are aware of the system freeze issue (both upon clean installation and upgrade) caused by clash of 2 AV scanners (ESET and Windows defender).

We hope that we will be able to release the hotfix build at the beginning of the next week.

Regards, P.R.
