Make a deep scan of your computer , ignore the files that cannot be opened because they are protected by the system or is being used by the system which makes ESET unable to read them/scan them Scan as Administrator also to make sure everything works properly , cannot read files because they are passworded is a different story for example But nothing is not normal in this case that ESET cannot read those files.

Argh this is why you can notice that the startup scan can slow your PC while all other programs are trying to start along the startup. Switch to SSD when you can , you won't regret it this I am sure

ESET seems to be running in task manager , now I mean in your icons in the bottom right of your window screen , you see ESET icon that you can click it and configure ESET from there. ekrn.exe eguiProxy.exe both of them are running.

It can now cause something like this , if your Chrome or Chromium works with ESET like mine , it would stop it from going to socket , it would always tell you that it's waiting for socket in order to be able to go to the website.

Check if you have detection of potentially unsafe applications enabled

I mean when you double click the ESET icon in the tasbar , do you see it reporting green and says that you are protected , or your attention is needed somewhere (yellow or red color)

Double check ESET status from the GUI to make sure you and we aren't wrong.

Are you using SSD?

ESET is running instead of Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.

Kali is used for Penetration Testing and that stuff and it's not good to use it for everyday use because most of the times you are running as ROOT which is not a good thing , Start off with Ubuntu or Linux Mint , both are good.

I believe the most efficient and fast way is to just backup your important data from this computer , reboot and format all partitions and start new , if you are having troubles repairing the MBR , which can give some headache I believe.

Day by day , Developers are giving more priority to Linux , same as STEAM. Steam works fine in Linux and also most of the games (it matters if the game was ported or natively built for Linux , and if it was a good port or bad port..) some games even get more FPS in Linux than in Windows.

Hello, This is just a suggestion but it could help in an environment where there is no possibilty to block categories of websites through firewalls It would be much useful to have ESET Parental Control or somekind of Web Filtering based on Categories , like to block Adult websites , or other websites.

For normal use (without heavy gaming) or business use Linux is excellent , I agree.
