  1. Checked but did not find the answer yet on this forum. Thanks anyway.
  2. Just by accident I figured out that 8.0.304 is out for download in Germany as well. To avoid updating the whole package I asked NOD32 8.0.301 GUI to search for updates. None found. Any reason why not even manual update through GUI works?
  3. Running Vista Pro 32 updating V7 to V8 went into error and installation resumed after reboot. But license date ( username, password ) was lost / cleard during this procedure. Went OK on other machine ( W7 Pro 64), will check further installations........ Update: OK with 2 W7 32 machines.... ( so only a hick-up ??? )
  4. As from my experience the semi-automatic updates (since ever) only worked within a major release ( mostly not even with in between), so a version 7 will NOT notify user that a version 8 is available ( internal modul changes will work OK ). At least in Germany I have not seen, that a registred customer was even notified by mail, that a new major version is available. Also with previous version there have been various requests to at least notify users ( e.g. by a yellow ! ), that a new version is available for download even if automatic update is not possible..... Consider this....
  5. I wonder whether my findings are really true. When accessing this forum 'forums.eset.com' access turns directly to https:// rather than http. But browser (FF 28.0) shows that no valid certificate is delivered by eset.com. Later on, e.g. when entering this post, at least there is a thawte-signed certificate, but still it says that there is no verification of site owner. Can someone pls. investigate. From a security company I would expect a fully certified signature in all cases......................
  6. Typically these parameters are active on the clients. Haven't checked though, whether this would change the condition. I only noticed, that once the stick gets installed unlocked, this 'timeout' does not occur. It also seems to depend on the clients 'processing power' .......
  7. As you may have noticed, this report is - for Security suites ( not just AV) - and 8.1. related only. As this threat relates to NOD32 AV would you be able to point to AV-only results?
  8. Whenever I attach a phyically write-protected USB-stick / flashdrive ( yes, there a still some available like Trekstor CS), it takes 'hours' until icons are displayed and folders are accessible. (even if I 'don't care' the NOD32 message when detecting the device). NOD32 latest version 7.0.302.26 various OS ( XP, Vista, W7, W8, 32/64) If I switch off write protection, everything works normal. Can someone verify this experience and probably find a solution? I need this writeprotected stick when I approach unknown computers as a repair tool .
  9. First I cannot say more than my preposter: Specify your issues BEFORE shouting and screaming. Secondly I am running ESETs 7.x all all family machines from XP over vista 32/64 up to W8 64 both HD only and SSD from netbook atom to I7. Plus my customers do so in various private and business environments with no complaints so far ( including VMs ). The only thing that might be different to your environment: no other security programs on board (except maybe MS security essentials), no other software firewalls etc just plain OS with inbuilt firewall active). So it could indeed be something very special in your suite of programs ESET has no influence on that might interfere.............. Any chance to post a system log experts could look into ?.....
  10. If it says 'unknown error' you might like to try everything ;-) This try obviously was before reading the 'solution note'.............
  11. Thanks @CB350: You made my day. BTW, changing test version into payed one did not fix it before........
  12. Just installed 64Bit version of (german) NOD32-AV 7.0.302.26 on customers W7-64 system. Activation went smoothly however NOD32 errors when manual updating AV definitions with 'unknown fatal error 0x1106' ? ideas
  13. False positive (Warning only). Kindersicherung 2013 'kisi2013.exe' from salfeld.de Rev 13.580.0.0 is detected as potential harmful. Also alarm rings twice during installition on 2 .dlls. kisi2013 is a child / PC protection software beeing able to limit usage per account on a timetable/ durationperday bas. It also includes internet access protection / filtering techniques ( white & black lists, redirection to safe sit) plus self protection mechanisms in various levels. Pls. x-check with vendor. Uploading not possible ( 25 MB ).
  14. Can anyone explain, what the internal differences/ advantages are 7.x Antivirus only vs 6.x Antivirus only ( appart from the fact that it is better most of the times to run the current version ) to propose upgrade to customers I was not able to locate any document explaining the changes.
  15. as already posted on wilderssecurity: Although there is a corresponding press release on eset.com/de, you will need 4 clicks to get linked to the news (if you know where to search about / press / news ). Recommend to put a direct link on the front page and have document updated 3 times a day with findings especially about the data leak. Don't let it end in a comms desaster. Be positively agressive and open to the public!
  16. Yes, see similar posts, also under wilderssecurity.com Eset Germany in the meantime is aware of this issue ( just talked to local support ) and in the middle of investigation (where is the leak, what happend, what is the source....)
  17. !!! Check out hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=2246055#post2246055 hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=349468 It looks like some customer data has been lost and is now used for licence phishing.
