We don't provide that info since it depends on many variables. I'd say they are just marketing numbers since sending suspicious files from users and running them on replicators to determine if they are malicious or not takes more than 40s or whatever. Also clients cannot ask cloud servers about every file since it would deteriorate performance if the system had to wait for a response. If cloud data was stored locally for improving performance, it would be impossible that millions of clients would be connecting to servers and downloading the data every minute or even less. Yes, it matters to some extent. The more users use a particular AV, the higher chance that some of them encounter malware that users of an AV with less users will never run into. On the other hand, we use various technologies at different layers to detect and block new malware. For more information, please read https://www.eset.com/int/about/technology/.

Did you uninstall the previous AV via the standard uninstall procedure? Could you try using MCPR removal tool (https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/mcafee-consumer-products-removal-tool/)? You might need to run the ESET uninstall tool in safe mode and then try installing v11 from scratch once the previous AV has been uninstalled completely.

The best settings are those that are set by default after installation. Not sure what auto scan you mean but the one-time scan that is started after installation and activation is necessary to calculate hashes of files and thus improve performance.

Unable to block Youtube or Google Drive on Chrome/Firefox
Marcos replied to CCross's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
In Chrome you'd need to clear the cache to make blocking work. Disabling QUIC protocol would most likely help as well. To disable it, enter "chrome://flags" in the address bar, search for "Experimental QUIC protocol" and disable it. -
Exlcusion not working
Marcos replied to mwhalenhtc's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
We'd need ELC logs (all that are collected by default) from time when the issue occurs. -
Malicious Powershell Script, WMI for Persistance
Marcos replied to CAB's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
I would always start with providing logs collected by ELC. Please collect them and provide us with the generated archive. -
Exlcusion not working
Marcos replied to mwhalenhtc's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Do you mean that the issue doesn't occur any more and it was resolved somehow? -
Please start logging with Process Monitor as per the instructions at https://support.eset.com/kb6308. Before you start logging, in the Filter menu enable advanced output as well as dropping of filtered events. Next create a filter for "C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Security\Modules" with the condition "contains" and start logging. When the error occurs, stop logging, save the log, compress it and provide it to us.

Exlcusion not working
Marcos replied to mwhalenhtc's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Please collect logs with ELC and send me the generated archive via a personal message. If too big to attach, upload it to a safe location and provide me with a download link. I'll try to reproduce it with the very same configuration. -

How do I submit a suspicious .dmg files to ESET?
Marcos replied to camelia's topic in ESET Cyber Security (for Mac)
You have joined this forum 46 minutes ago, posted your first post 37 minutes ago and 12 minutes after you complained about receiving no response. Honestly, considering 12 minutes to be a big delay in responding is not correct. You can drop me a message with your license key so that I can check it out, however, it is important to contact customer care in the first place. -
We no longer offer ESET Smart Security. It was replaced by ESET Internet Security which you should be able to install over ESET NOD32 Antivirus. At any time you can downgrade or upgrade the product under Help and support -> Change product. We recommend using ESET Internet Security which also comes with a firewall and Network protection besides features like Antispam and Anti-Theft. Network protection also protects you from network attacks that may come from the Internet or unpatched computers in a local network.

Is the device still marked as missing in the AT portal? If so, please mark it as found and wait a little bit until the client connects to ESET's servers for AT status update. You can also drop me a personal message with your registration address for my.eset.com and the name of the troublesome device.
