security alert

recently i installed ESET SS, and it is showing this problem.

anti-virus protection is  function is non-functional

viruses scanner initialization failed. most of eset smart security will not function properly.

 

 

please help me to solve this issue

1) uninstall using standard add/remove programs
2) use eset uninstaller following the guide here : hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2289/?locale=en_US
3) re install ESS again

is it really required to follow the guide ?    can we just uninstall it in the control panel then reinstall it again?

It should be enough to uninstall it the standard way. Should the problem persist, then resort to using the Unistall tool in safe mode.
