JohnO 0 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I'm using Firefox and Eset NOD 32 on my desktop, and my email functions (yahoo, gmail and another one) are all running extremely slow. I can type half a line in a message before anything shows up on the screen. Refreshing the screen in email, like going to a different message can be painfully slow. Temporarily disabling the web and email AV functions in Eset helps speed things up dramatically. Is there something I can do to improve performance and still use the AV on Eset? I do regularly clean up stuff on my computer with Glary Utilities, so it is not junk that is slowing me down. Help!
Administrators Marcos 5,455 Posted July 23, 2015 Administrators Posted July 23, 2015 Web and email protection merely scans http and pop3/imap protocols, it does not do anything else while you're typing. Are you able to reproduce it with Internet Explorer? Did you enable SSL scanning?
ESET Staff Gonzalo Alvarez 66 Posted July 25, 2015 ESET Staff Posted July 25, 2015 Hi, Without touching ESET, try to close 1 program and write a line and see what happens. Repeat with all active programs. What programs are running in background? What version of ESET you have? Firefox is up-to-date?
