serpher 0
Does ESET Endpoint really needs a restart every time there's an (incremental) update or settings are turned on/off? For example going from 10.1.2046 to 10.1.2050 requires a restart. In our workflow, we have some PC stations that are really important/critical to operate. Every PC has to have AV but restarting important PCs is kinda difficult.
Administrators Marcos 4,841 Posted August 28 Administrators Share Posted August 28 You don't have to reboot machines immediately, If you use the auto-update feature, it will install a new version the next time a machine is rebooted.
serpher 0
By "auto-update feature" you mean built-in auto-update policy? I don't really see it work, I can't find if it triggers.
Administrators Marcos 4,841 Posted August 28 Administrators Share Posted August 28 Yes, I mean that. The setting can be found also in the Endpoint setup:
ma77y88 2
Hi, following on from this, in 10.1.2046.0 there was a feature named in the change log...New: Support for forced check of product auto-upgrades via ESET PROTECT console Where is this available in the console as I can't seem to find it? kelepe 1
Hello, you can find it in Policy for Endpoint product - section UPDATE, where you can also specify update server address. Keep in mind that there is also Built-in-Policy - Auto-Updates where you can manage this as well. It is enabled by default from version Eset Protect 10. Are you using offline or online repository for updates ?
ma77y88 2
We've already got all that set, this feature is supposed to force a check for the auto-upgrade as currently it is random when it happens and the only way to manually do it is on the client itself which is obviously not practical in a large environment. ma77y88 2
@Marcos Please could advise on this feature please and where in the console you can force the check?
Administrators Marcos 4,841 Posted September 12 Administrators Share Posted September 12 As of now you can't force a check for the so-called uPCU. Currently you can only send a software install task to upgrade Endpoint immediately but it usually requires a restart to complete.
ma77y88 2
So why was this listed as a feature for 10.1.2046.0? New: Support for forced check of product auto-upgrades via ESET PROTECT console

ma77y88 2
OK, so when is the support in ESET Protect due? It seems bizarre to announce a feature but not allow the capability within the console! MKHAI
