pronto 6 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Servus Community, today I was suddenly asked to change the password of the ESET Protect GUI. This was unexpected. This is the first time in all the years we use ESET. Where does this come from suddenly and how to turn it off? Thx & Bye Tom
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted December 8, 2022 Administrators Posted December 8, 2022 Password expiration is set in the particular user account setup:
pronto 6 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 Servus Marcos, the specific setting wasn't set
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted December 8, 2022 Administrators Posted December 8, 2022 If 1500 days have not elapsed and yet you were prompted for a password change, please open a support ticket for investigation.
pronto 6 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 It is possible that we have the setup in operation for 1500 days now but the checkbox that requires a password change is not checked.

The checkbox is unrelated to the password expiration age.

Administrators Solution Marcos 5,739 Posted December 8, 2022 Administrators Solution Posted December 8, 2022 When creating a new account, the value is the number of days after which the password will expire and will have to be changed. Ticking the box will enforce immediate password change after the next log in.
