Servus Community,

today I was suddenly asked to change the password of the ESET Protect GUI. This was unexpected. This is the first time in all the years we use ESET. Where does this come from suddenly and how to turn it off?

Thx & Bye Tom

If 1500 days have not elapsed and yet  you were prompted for a password change, please open a support ticket for investigation.

It is possible that we have the setup in operation for 1500 days now but the checkbox that requires a password change is not checked.

The checkbox is unrelated to the password expiration age.

I don't understand. If a password change is not required, what does the 1,500 days still matter?

When creating a new account, the value is the number of days after which the password will expire and will have to be changed. Ticking the box will enforce immediate password change after the next log in.

Ah okay, then it's all understandable. Then it does what it is supposed to do...
