  1. Ask AV-Test.

I have stopped bothering with their results when it comes to the performance part. It doesn't matter what OS they test on, or what version of the product that they test, same thing each time.

ESET is no1 in one test, and one of the worst in another....that's the world of AV testing. Just take it with a pinch of salt.

    Agree 100%

  2.

    - Why don't you install SP3 even if Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft? Having the latest service pack installed is better than having the computer more vulnerable to malware attacks.

I think he had done so.

And for you @Pentode I want to quote myself:

About the system requirements I can suggest you this topic:

System requirements of the new ESET version 8

There I explained in detail where the "SP3 required" was noted and where not. And to make it short: It was noted somewhere, but not everywhere.

About the "message appending" I don't think that this is really such a serious issue, but for troubleshooting and possible solutions, please stick to your topic:

    Can't Append Message to Email

Additionally I'd like to say that @jadinolf found a acceptable solution. :)  (And because his one is unique it's also not so easy for malware to fake it )

    But back to topic:

    1. @jadinolf, you're experiencing this issue too or did you just wanted to make a suggestion for the TS? If you're experiencing the issue please tell us what email client you use.
    2. Like @Marcos already said, it's always important to have the most recent updates (and also Service Packs of course) installed. Regardless of whether ESET supports SP2 or not I would have suggested you to upgrade to SP3.
    3. The signature of ESET is only a "design element". Like @Marcos said, it can be easily faked or something else.

That's why ESET will move infected emails automatically in the dir "infected" (and adds the virus name to subject of the mail) in the default setting and the spam mails to the spam folder.

    @all

Please check your settings. To have such a signature from ESET appended to all scanned mails adjust the settings in this way.

@jadinolf and @Pentode please check whether your settings are set this way.

I use Postbox which is similar to Thunderbird but obviously NOT Thunderbird so I just wanted the message on my email. I just use it in my signature.

    Hey Joe!

Yeah you're a luck dog...like Fred...to be able to buy from Newegg, but if you live elsewhere like in Europe for example it's not that easy. And soon comes Black Friday after that you'll have licenses to 2020  :D

I use a dual-boot computer with two separate operating systems—how many licenses do I need?

You only need one (1) license, as you cannot use both operating systems simultaneously.

    Thanks  SweX

    Good news.

I told you before- hop on a plane and move here. ;)

  4. Right now, on one of my computers I am dual booting Windows 7 and the Windows 10 preview.

I am using NOD32 with Windows 7 and the built in antivirus program on Windows 10.

Question is- do I need a separate license if and when I install NOD32 in Windows 10?

Just curious. I may never do that. Then again, I may. :)

Oh, found another bargain at Newegg a few minutes ago now I am covered with licenses through 2017.

  5. I did. I Googled the problem and was about to print the instructions.

But I took one more look at the Action Center and got the message "ESET NOD32 Antivirus reports it is turned on"

I guess my 6 reboots may have helped--who knows?

    Thanks for the post TomFace.

  6. Always something new when you play computers.

One of my computers no longer sees NOD32 V8 and invited me to go on line to find an antivirus program..

My program seems to be working perfectly but the only way to shut Windows 7 up is to tell it to not monitor my computer.

I really want that portion of 7 to work so what should I do? Reinstall version 8? Any other ideas?

    Thanks

  7.

Yeah V8 installs over V7 works fine.

    "Uninstall the beta?"

    Yes Sir.

You should uninstall Beta and reinstall new version 8 GA build

    https://forum.eset.com/topic/2984-eset-smart-security-and-eset-nod32-antivirus-8-beta-available/?p=19237

That's what I was afraid of.

    Here goes. :(

I'm DONE. All 4 computers now have Version 8. :)

Here goes  :D Good job Joe now you can relax and enjoy till next time  ;)

    Yep

  8. Well, I still have seen no info on whether ESET plans to push out V8 via the in-built updater or not.

But users can always download it manually and install over the top, or do a clean install like me wich I always do on major version updates  ;)

Bang on offline installer over top and get it over with, Joe. It may be a server population issue.

    Good news, Mr. siljaline.

I figured as much but I wanted to hear from a REAL  expert. :)

That's very kind, thank you. Merci pour le kudo, aussi :)
