  1. Not much consolation but I am running outpost and NOD32  (latest versions of both) on 5 computers with no trouble.

Thanks for your report jadinolf that's good to know. It is possible that Outpost have made some changes in recent version to work better with some AV's.

Do you use them on Win7 64-bit wich is the platform where the OP had issues on?

Four are Windows 7 64 bit.

    One is Vista 32 bit.

    Fixed for future onlookers.  :)

  3. I have the paid Lifetime version on all 5 of my computers (4 Windows 7 and 1 Vista).

The only problem I am having is that sometimes I cannot shut down and have to go thru a simple change in procedure to do it.

I understand that they will be releasing another set of fixes soon and I hope that this problem will be included.

I ran the beta on all 5 of my computers and mentioned the problem on their forum but never saw any other mention of it.

    Yes, my fingers are crossed.

  4. Hi my name is Angie and I am running Windows 7 Pro. Right now the only anti virus I have is ESET. I am new to the forum and I look forward to learning new things.

Welcome to the forum Angie. My name is Joe. I think ESET is the only antivirus you will ever need.

I have it on 5 computers and am very happy with it.

  5. I imagine you are not running 64 bit windows 8, or you may have noticed Windows explorer is running 300/ 500 meg and you browsers crawl.

Stick with what works on your system.

I have ywo year webroot license I cannot use.

That's computers, I don't think Microsoft make it easy for anyone these days, but that's just my thoughts.

And I have 3 Webroot licenses I would gladly pass on to anyone who wants them.
  6. Hello,

I have nod32 v7. Today, I wanted to download the free new Ccleaner 4.10 from Piriform, ccsetup410.exe". Nod32 says it is a potentially dangerous program because there is a g**gle Toolbar in the installer. No warning was given In the previous versions of nod32.

So did Eset change something in its V7 detection? Or does Piriform use a new trick  for its toolbar ?

Previous versions of ccleaner also had this toolbar and let the user to install it or not.

I'm sure ESET does not enter into tths equation. Piriform (Ccleaner) might make a few pennies if you install it.

If you want the toolbar, fine. If you don't just uninstall it.

  7. I should explain. Here is a brief part of the message from Customer Care.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting ESET Customer Care.

The symptoms that you are experiencing may be resolved by completely removing any previous installations or attempted installations of your ESET Software.

    1. For instructions on how to manually uninstall your ESET product, click or copy/paste the following Knowledgebase article into your web browser:
