That would be my guess. I have the same problem.
Eventually it goes away (for me at least).
-
Thanks to both of you.
-
It may be mentioned on this forum but does anyone know the approximate date when V9 will be released to the rest of the world?
Yes, I am spineless.
-
Anyone have an idea when version 9 is released?
Dying to look at it.
Nope, not gonna run the beta.
-
Can't tell if it is close or far away. Would like a REAL date,
Would love to know.
Thanks

I guess ESET is asleep, so no answer to your question.
Can't wait to use NOD32 on Windows 10. Right now I'm using Windows defender because I am staying away with nonMicrosoft programs as much as I can until the 29th or later.
Been with 10 since the beginning.

I always recommend a fresh install of the final release, as in uninstalling the beta and install the final. (even if it may official be supported) And I assume that exporting and importing should work fine as usual, at least from v9 beta to final.
Thank you SweX. I have two concerns which is why I asked. The first is my miserably small data allowance and the second is recreating all the rules I have.
I appreciate your time to respond. I will be going for the beta on my new computer, the other will be fine till Eset SS is out of beta.
I have always installed the update over the current version with no problems.
Of course, there is always the exception but I have not had one YET.
I have several computers and I am very lazy.

Yes.
We are using it all the time with our customers and works well..
Just in some "strange" cases uninstall does not work and then you should use ESET Uninstall Utility.
With "strange" cases I'm thinking about:
- where are two or more AV product installed at same time at same computer.
Most probelmas we had with Symantec products - even when it looks like they are uninstalled they left lot of garbage
- Where malware destroyed part of Windows OS (like: disable BFE)
There usualy helps sfc /scannow or some of Microsoft FixIt programs
- Where another program changed rights in Registry HKLM/Software branch return rights to admin
Thanks for all of the information.
For the first time in recent versions I have not installed a beta. Now I know what to do as far as uninstall is concerned. .

Well, I finally activated my NOD32 with the 2013 info for three computers,
No problem although the message said it was a downloaded version which it wasn't.
No problem, of course. New one expires June 5, 2016.
Finally, I caved in and I activated an 1year / 3 devices license before expiration and I lost 13 days.
Honestly I do not think anyone is listening on this forum for members suggestions: this is still "unfixed"
Oh yeah ? Well, you're wrong. Because you see, they do actually listen.....
Gee, that's old.
Is that just for ESET Smart Security?
Glad that they listen or read....
It is a screenshot from the Advanced Setup section in the ESS V9 Beta, I assume these options are available in both NOD32 and ESS. I only Beta test the ESS V9 Beta at the moment so I can't say what it looks like in NOD32, sorry. Though I am pretty sure they are the same, only that NOD32 may have a few less checkboxes than ESS in that list.
OK, that's good SweX
I guess they DO listen.

Honestly I do not think anyone is listening on this forum for members suggestions: this is still "unfixed" as well as the option to "Activate your product...." still present in your Right click on tray icon, even though your product is already activated.
The latest was mentioned by myself more than a year ago....
Very good point.

Soi indeed it are only 2 notifications - the usual one in the ESET GUI and one separate prompt.
Maybe the separate prompt is made for all users who don't look at the ESET GUI at all...

Sounds great.
Just one question.
WHEN?
-
Finally, I got the 13 days expiration notice; I have a new retail package NOD32 Antivirus, 1year /3pc with activation key.
If I activate it now, 13 days in advance, using the activation key which is printed on the package, I am going to loose the 13 days???
Thanks,
novice
Yep, so put up with the messages until the due date. My renewal is 6/6/2015.

Decisions, decisions.......
I'll pass.......
-
Same here.

I've updated all 4 of my Windows 7 computers.
Seems to be fine.
Thanks to siljaline.

Is there really a rumor going around?
I have seen nothing.

Well I am far from young (just turned 45). And yes the true test of something is to actually try it on your system. Everyone has different pc's with different specs. So of course every product will perform differently. But when you have a a core i7 with 12GB of ram nothing should slow down your system. But unfortunately they do, As far as testing goes sometimes you think there is a conspiracy. AV Comparatives gives Eset a #1 rating in performance and a good rating in detection. AVTest gives poor ratings. 2+2 doesn't always equal 4. Just like Bitdefender is always a top scorer but their product is extremely buggy. Not for just me but thousands of other. Their support forum is a joke with 90% of posts going unanswred for weeks or months. The black screen login delay as been plaguing every Bitdefender user for about a year now. It's still not addressed. Kaspersky has had slow updates for years. Still not addressed. All Kaspersky tells you to do is submit a GSi log for them to look over.
45? I have socks your age.

...... My post was mainly to praise Eset and ask the question "Why do so many companies release security products with tons of bugs". As in matter of fact Avast released a version, I think the when the 2015 one came out without all components even working. But yes this was an official release and not a beta.
It's called business and the pursuit of happiness (making money). I am old enough to know better and get very weary of reading about test results which most likely are skewed (for whatever reason) this way or that way 95% of the time. What I do know is how my daily experience feels. ESET fulfills my expectations (for years) without me having to know everything and be an expert (at everything). Not worrying is a good thing.
Could not agree more.
Yup-us old retired dudes (and dudettes) have to stick together~!
VERY true.

Hmm, I'm glad I swore a blood oath not to install NOD32 until Windows 10 is released officially.
Long story.

Ok, I'd just like to know, am I at greater risk with HIPs disabled like it is? Should I go back to Windows Defender instead?
I am using Windows Defender on Windows 10 only. It seems to be working fine.
I know it should work fine, but I prefer to give use to my 2-year NOD32 license. Thank you.
I agree. Looks like your troubles are over.
