  1. Hi,

Never got an alert , in more than 2 years, from HIPS, document protection, self defense, advanced memory scanner, exploit blocker, anti-###### protection,

All I got was on access / execution detection and malicious website protection, like any other common AV.

    Are these settings for real????

Same here and I have been using it since 2013.

I like to think that it is related to my surfing habits.

    Maybe I am wrong.

  2.

I have uninstalled it and run another full system recovery, now running without the ESET and everything seems fine.  I'll see how it gets on over the next few days.

    But Jerry, you need protection.

Are you really willing to go without it?

I have had to resort to using MSE and windows firewall for now.

At the moment the choice is to have "protection" on a computer that keeps freezing or run lesser protection and have a computer that flies.

I have a mate in Argentina who has suggested downloading it again and he will remote operate my machine to sort out any issues, so that might be the next step.

Obviously I have paid for the ESET so I want it to work.

    Great.

    I wish you luck.

  3. I just paid for another year of Nod32, it updated me to vs  9.something. I had vs 8 and liked it better. It seemed to be easier to understand and updated every hour. Anyway to go back to that?

    This should do it.

Your V 9 license will work with this as well.

Be careful when installing because it may ask if you want the latest version. Say NO!

    Enjoy

I'm sorry but the link I sent should have taken you to V 8 downloads but life is not that simple.

Sniff around the page the link took you to.

Let's hope some kind soul will guide you to V8.

  4. Hi Everyone!!

My name is antus ( which is polish and in English is "Anthony)

I came across the Eset  Security Forum via the web and associates that are members of this forum.

My OS is Windows 10 Enterprise and my AV is Eset Nod 32.

I have been working with computers since 1999 and thru out the years I had the pleasure of testing and writing reviews on antivirus software, many requests were by Vendors that wanted their software tested and evaluated.

My passion growing up was a musician, I played the sax and clarinet and played in a band for 30 years. Now I'm retired and spend a majority of my time on the web.

    Nice to meet you antus.

I'm sure you will enjoys your visits here.

My name is Joe (Josef- Joseph) :)

  5.

    Marcos, how close is close?

That would be nice to know.

    Thanks

it might be 1 month, 2 months or more. the program must undergo extensive internal testing to ensure that it meets all the specifications for a public release.

just wait and check the forum for future announcements.

    Thanks

  6. There's a visual bug in v9.0.381 and v9.0.386 which cause incorrect information about the last update to be displayed in gui. However, this does not affect the protection nor program's functionality. Neither V10 nor other products are affected. It is not clear yet if there will be any further build of v9 as we are close to the release of v10.

    Marcos, how close is close?

That would be nice to know.

    Thanks

  7. Unless, version 10 is coming out next week ... I think this should be a (relatively) simple bug to squash? I understand this is probably cosmetic, but still think it needs to be addressed (or at least acknowledged with a confirmation that there is no security risk involved).

The statement "This was an issue in previous v9 versions but it should be fixed in 9.0.386 ..." is clearly in error given the number of confirmations of the issue.

It's nice to be ignored, isn't it? :(

  8. An update ...

The problem definitely still exists, but with the following addendum:

    1) If you completely shut down your computer, and then

    2) Reboot your computer from a cold state, and if

    3) Before logging on, ESET runs a background update, then

    4) the "update was last run" information on the home tab and update tab do show correct information.

However, if you are logged on to Windows and a background update runs or the user initiates a manual update, the "update was last run" information on the home tab and update tabs are NOT updated.

So, for me, since I do turn off my systems overnight -- at first use in the morning, the update information looks as it should as ESET runs an update after the computer have been off for 5-8 hours. But as the day goes on, even with background updates running as expected (and the occasional OCD manual user update when I notice a new definition has been released), the "update last run" data is stuck at the "boot up" update data.

Most certainly an ESET bug. Hopefully one that does not compromise the safety of our systems (I suspect not, but would like to see this acknowledged and addressed ASAP).

    Again, I can reproduce this on 2 Win7 Ultimate x64 systems and 1 Win10 x64 Pro system.

I shut down my computers every night.

    Problem still exists.

Doesn't hurt anything but still should be fixed.

  9.

Are we getting close to releasing Version 10?

    Just curious. :)

    Be patient Joe... :P

Sorry Tom. Patience does not exist in my dictionary.

Kids today-your generation wants everything now.

I know- I know---my dad always tells me that. ;)
