    Eset's detection is correct.

Did initial scan at URLVoid.com. That yielded Dr. Web detecting it as malicious. Viewed Quttera's analysis there and it showed a possible malicious status. So scanned the site at Quttera's web site which yielded the following:

Thanks that confirms that AV website is malicious, and maybe the AV app too 😡

No, No I scanned a file @ Virus Total and that file show a FP from that AV vendor, that is why I wanted to contacted them to report it

There's nothing special to know about computer scan profiles. You can either edit the existing ones, such as Smart scan (doesn't scan archives), Context menu scan (uses settings for scans triggered from the shell context menu) and In-depth scan (also scans archives). You can also create custom profiles that you can then select in the scanner setup before running a custom scan.

    Understood, Thank you @Marcos

  4. Hello,

I'm confused, do I have to change both settings @stackz and @Marcos suggestion?

    1 hour ago, itman said:

Personally, I would just create a new scan profile. Name it "SD Card Scan." The select boot sectors in the scan options along with whatever other options you desire. Then save it.

This way, you're not "fooling around" changing existing Eset options for the default scanning methods.

Yes it is a good idea, but I still don't know, how profiles works, I will start a new topic asking about profiles

    Thanks

  5. Hello,

When I scan an SD Card (Context Menu) only scans for folders and files is there an option in EIS "Settings" to scan its MBR, partition table or boot sectors?

When I scan selecting "In-depth scan" As Administrator I got a report like:

Scanned disks, folders and files: Operating memory;A:\Boot sectors/UEFI;C:\Boot sectors/UEFI;A:\;C:\

But NOT right clicking on the SD card only

  6. Hello

Well, Ok, I have tried all the suggestion above and I finished formatting my HD, Installing Windows 10 again, EIS 11.2.49.0 (But this time I didn't update it from previous version)    And Shadow Defender...

I am getting notifications about module updates when the computer is "IDLE" or in "Shadow mode" AND EIS informed me about an update for Windows (KB4100347) When this patch was released  and I restarted my computer.

I can not confirm that there is no issue in ver. 11.2.49 until the next patch update

I will keep posting If I still having any issue..

For now, Thank you very much to all the experts in this forum

  7. Hello,

I have to wait for Microsoft August 2018 Patch Tuesday and this time EIS notified me about new updates, I only have to wait more time for possible newer updates later this month to confirm IF EIS under Windows 10 latest build and fully patched is notifying without any issue.

    Yes.

Well, that is weird. If anything, I would expect to see the issue with shadow mode enabled.

Try @Marcos noted exclusions, but I have my doubts if this will eliminate the problem. Might be certain elements of Eset's GUI do not work properly with Shadow Defender installed.

Tried @Marcos suggestion just for out of curiosity and I found out EIS is not updating when the computer is idle (Computer is on, but I wasn't doing anything with it) I have to update it manually (Clicking on "Check for updates" )

Soooooooooooooo my problem is EIS does not update when IDLE, EIS updates after a restart or when I turn on my computer!  Do I have to open other New Topic about this issue?

Only after reboot or when I turn on my PC,  EIS updates... weird is not? ?

  8. Hello @itman

And sorry for the late reply. ?

Can you see this notification every time EIS updates?

    01EsetUp.jpg.a8c7ca36c03c2f7a1d99d46a14fdccd7.jpg

I am able to reproduce the notification because I am working in shadow mode most of the time https://www.shadowdefender.com/

But when exit "Shadow mode" and restart computer and I don't see it

I can also confirm that there is no issue in ver. 11.2.49 in regards to available Win Update notification.

I verified this by enabling Windows Defender periodic scanning. This from previous experience will always trigger an Eset GUI notification at system boot/restart time if a Windows Defender signature definition update is available via Windows Update. Sure enough, it triggered an Eset notification that a WD signature update was available at today's cold system boot.

BTW - I believe the way Eset checks for Windows Updates is by querying the Windows Catalog web site. I state this because I usually receive Eset's notification of pending Windows Updates much sooner than waiting for Windows Update to inform me that an update is available.

Lucky you but not my case ?

    Best Regards,

What I use works for me......I'll keep my fingers crossed....check your log (events) file against your updates list (program "update") to be sure you are up to date (update-wise).

If it were a widespread issue, we've would have seen a flurry of forum activity.

    Best regards.

Are you in windows 7 SP1?, because under Windows 10 nothing is working ?

If you go to the Tools menu , then "More Tools" at the bottom right of the window. You can get the security report from there :)@camelia

it was a mistake if for any reason I click there
