Hello,
Yup, same problem here; I think EIS is blocking WU
10 Times tried to download last patch update and April WU did not install no matter what
Tried with Windows Update MiniTool no luck
Finally. someone in a forum suggest to download it using the Media Creation Tool
But first I had to uninstall any AV
When I tried to uninstall EIS I got a BSOD in a loop:
I had to format my HD and install again Windows 10, running only Windows Defender Antivirus
All the patches downloaded without any issue
Now I am afraid to install EIS until you finish with the investigation of the issue.
No issues: Windows 7 + WU + EIS
Thanks

EIS is a well known AV, why then the offline installer has to have Adware?
Please don't take my word, Wikipedia confirms it...

I appreciate any help that you can provide about this issue.
Thanks

Hello Camelia.
Here's a link to the latest version live installer. If what Marcos says is correct, you should get 11.0.159.9.
https://support.eset.com/kb2476/
Here is the link to older versions.

But if you have that installed already, then you don't need to do anything because the in-product upgrades won't install the new version yet. Fresh installs of the latest version are running without issues afaik.
Thanks, I found a backup of the version I was asking for
Best Regards

About Spanish
I find also this annoying and insulting
So for ESET Chile now represents Español Latinoamericano!!! Whaaaaaa?
Let's see some facts:
ESET RETURN TO SCHOOL!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand

If we decide to produce also a British English, Australian English and whatever language flavor in the future, that version will use the appropriate country flag.
I doubt Chile is one of the biggest markets in Latin America...
Do you want a proof?
And I have more complains about this new version...
Thanks

Hello,
I am a little disappointment about no notifications about the new version, in this case Cyber Security: 6.5.600.5, also there is no changelog so I don't know whats new about this new update
Also no response for Eset labs about the files I sent 3 days ago
"If the issue is not resolved within two days and the matter is urgent, please send a follow-up email message with the following information:
- Subject line of email that was sent to samples@eset.com.
- Date and time of email.
- Email address you sent it From."
What should I do now?
Thanks

Not running the applications will not compromise your system, so in this case, your newest MacBook should be fine. To be safe, if you have performed an In-depth scan from ESET Cyber Security and found no threats, your system should be fine.
Thank you very much, expert planet
Everything is OK now, with my new bootlable media

There is also another option to download macOS High Sierra from the App Store on your main MacBook and create a bootable USB installer to use on your second MacBook, which you can boot into and perform the clean install. Easiest Instructions are provided by MacWorld: https://www.macworld.com/article/3204672/macs/how-to-create-a-bootable-macos-high-sierra-installer-drive.html
Thank you expert Planet, it was a satisfactory solution for my old Mac, successfully I could boot from the bootable media and I found out, I didn't have internet connection because my USB Ethernet Adapter is broken, I will get my replacement next week, that is why I think I downloaded the trojanized applications from the my newest MacBook, but I didn't install them in the newest only in the oldest
In this case, downloading the trojanized applications only, but not install them can compromise my newest Mackbook?
Can I post ESET Cyber Security Logs in the sub forum Malware Finding and Cleaning?
I don't want to continue creating a bootable USB installer until I know your advice.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide me

You don't have to block twitter, you got the application installed. (else it won't show up in CCleaner)
So if you don't use twitter, just uninstall it.
Yup uninstall it, no more twitter
Thanks again

I'm afraid that I don't understand what rule you mean. The screen shot you've posted is not from an ESET product.
I know, is an Screenshot from CCleaner, but If Cc shows twitter app it means the computer is having a connection with Twitter, Am I right?
1 hour ago, Daedalus said:You posted an screenshot of CCleaner... what is it you want to do with ESET?
Deny any activity from twitter, but I can not find the rule

Hello,
I know how to deny connections and how to enter to Advance Setup
But I can not find this rule "Twitter Metro" from Windows Store
I have enough with my mobile about twitter to have it also in my computer
Where is that rule?
Thanks

Hello,
I am still having problems with my second Macbook and its the older one:
A) The computer doesn't have restore partition or macOS Recovery, I know this since I bought it (I am the second owner)
B) I can not connect to Internet, I don't know why
The only solution I have at this moment is to use a bootable backup solution (Carbon Copy Cloner) from a friend of mine
But I read this Trojan is a persistent malware, so I am afraid I can infect her external hard drive, trying to boot with CCC
So my question will be:
Can I infect her bootlable backup media?
Thanks

Does ESET Cyber Security only detects OR removes the OSX.Proton malware found in Eltima Software some days ago?
Thanks for any information you can provide me

Hi,
Why in Windows 7, I don't see this fancy notification? it is exclusive for W10?

The master boot record (MBR) is a part of your disks. It contains some information about the partitions on the disk and the bootloader.
As this bootloader can also be modified by malware ESET can scan the MBR.
As for the issue with the "error opening" message - this generally means that ESS can't access the file (or data) and can't scan it. This can have many reasons - e.g. a file is blocked by a process which is actually using it.
In this case this may be because ESS didn't have the necessary rights to read the MBR. So maybe scanning as administrator can prevent the message from appearing and everything will be scanned.
Additionally it seems you're using an older version of ESS. As new versions of ESS contain enhanced security features I highly recommend you to upgrade to the latest version.
Thank you very much for your information
I had attached an USB stick when I did the scan, could it be ESS was reporting an MBR error reading of this media, because it is marked as MBR sector of the 2, My HDD is MRB sector of 1, Am I right?
Why I should upgrade? I am happy with ESS V. 5.2.15.0, where can I learn more about ESS V.5 vs ESS V.8?
It's a hard task to setup my rules and zones, since I prefer a clean install every time I upgrade an AV, also the ESS configuration can't be import as .XML in order to restore the settings in ESS newest versions
I tried ESS V. 6.0.316.0 but the first time I installed always ends with an error updating its database
Last question do you know if there is a boxed version of ESS 8?
Is ESS 2015 Version 8?
Thanks you very much in advance for any help you can provide me
