  1. The setting to disable program updates is found in the advanced update setup: It is our good will that we inform you about potential risks when staying with an older version. If one were to purchase a home alarm and the seller would not recommend a better one for the same price that can resist latest tricks of burglars, it would not be fair from him against the buyer. Newer versions are actually even lighter on resources. If you have the opposite experience, we would be glad to assist you with determining the root cause and finding a solution.
  2. What is the reason for staying with v10 and not updating to the latest one? Program updates can be disabled in the advanced setup. However, we don't recommend that or ESET will not be able to protect you against current threats to the maximum possible extent. V10 is quite old and is not supported any more. If you use Windows 10, you will have to upgrade anyways since old versions of AVs either don't already run on it or will not run after upgrade to RedStone 5 (probably to be called April 2019 Update).
  3. This is a duplicate topic of https://forum.eset.com/topic/18472-eset-agent-7x-removed-by-windows-update/. Having said that, we'll draw this one to a close.
  4. No url was enclosed in your post. However, as per this forum rules, please report it to ESET directly: 22. Do not report possibly incorrect detections or blocks (false positives) in the forum unless they may affect a lot of users. If you think that your application or website is detected or blocked incorrectly, please report it to ESET as per the instructions at https://support.eset.com/kb141.
  5. Did you install ESET Mobile Security & Antivirus from Google Play store? If so, I'd recommend contacting your local customer care to have your license checked.
  6. It appears that you have created two accounts and posted a duplicate post under the other account: https://forum.eset.com/topic/18473-challenging-problem/. This is a bad practice which is against this forum rules: 2, Do not create multiple accounts. If a person is found creating multiple accounts, ESET reserves the right to take whatever actions it deems necessary, including banning, blocking, deleting and/or merging them. The exception to this rule is ESET staff, who may create multiple accounts for testing purposes. That said, the other account will be disabled.
  7. There is a topic called "Future changes..." in each product's forum where users can posts suggestions for improvements.
  8. Please kindly stop using bold font and multiple question marks which is generally considered shouting. Shouting is forbidden by our forum rules.
  9. Please clarify your question since it's not clear what you would like us to help you with.
  10. Some communication is allowed by default. To override default rules, you'd need to move your custom rule(s) on top of the default rules which are hidden unless you check a box to display them in the rule editor.
  11. Did you purchase the license through the Internet or a boxed version from a retailer? Is the key you've received in the form XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX? Did you download a correct installer for your product, meaning that if you purchased ESET Internet Security you actually installed ESET Internet Security and not ESET Smart Security Premium for instance? As for username and password, you use only a license key in the form mentioned above to activate your product. There is no username / password to be used.
  12. Please configure Windows to generate complete memory dumps as per https://support.eset.com/kb380/. After you've reproduced the crash, compress the complete memory dump, upload it to a safe location and drop me a personal message with a download link. Also please gather logs with ESET Log Collector and provide us with the generated archive.
  13. In automatic mode (default), all outgoing communication is allowed and all non-initiated communication from outside the Trusted zone is blocked. It is not clear how the firewall behaves after a system restart since it should always behave the same way unless custom rules are created.
  14. The cleaning functionality is subject to overhaul. I'm trying to understand the use case. 1, Do you set cleaning mode to No cleaning or Strict cleaning in all modules? , 2. Do you uninstall and reinstall ESET so frequently that setting the cleaning mode at very few places in the configuration is a problem? Even if you export and import settings when reinstalling ESET? You have posted in the Remote administrator forum. If you use ESET Security Management Console, what problem is there when setting a non-default cleaning mode via a policy?
  15. What do you mean by that Outlook is not working? Doesn't it start at all? Does it throw an error? Does temporarily disabling integration with Outlook make a difference? Do you have another security software or a non-standard Outlook plug-in installed?
  16. Does pausing protection, temporarily disabling protocol filtering in the advanced setup, disabling HIPS and rebooting the machine or uninstalling ESET make a difference?
  17. Vhd files are containers, ie. real-time protection doesn't scan them all. What issues do you have with vhd files if they are not excluded from scanning by real-time protection? Re. individual ThreatSense setttings for modules, settings like file exclusions and PUA/PUsA detection, they can be globally set at one place. It makes sense to have individual settings per each protection module and on-demand scanner profile. Without that, it wouldn't make sense to have various on-demand scan profiles if only targets could be defined in scan profiles. Ie. users would be forced to use smart scan without scanning archives or an in-depth scan that would scan everything but would take long. Users generally love the granularity of settings and the possibility to tailor them to their needs or liking. I for one can't think of a scenario when a user would need to change a particular setting in all modules and on-demand scanner profiles at once. If there is a real use for some settings to become global, we'd like to hear more about such use.
  18. Does pausing real-time protection or another protection module make a difference? Couldn't it be that you have another AV software, such as MBAM installed?
  19. Please contact customer care through the built-in form so that logs are submitted. It could be that the issue has been addressed in a recent beta version and that it will be fixed in the release version soon.
  20. You should have at least one machine with Internet connection to download updates. You can then install HTP Proxy on it (a part of the ESMC All-in-one installer) so that it caches install and update files for the other machines. It is pre-configured to allow connections only to ESET's servers. One thing worth of mentioning is that wake-up calls won't work since machines won't be able to communicate with epns.eset.com directly bypassing the proxy. Do you have a completely offline environment that a mirror would need to be created elsewhere and its content transferred, e.g. using a flash disk? When deploying ESMC Agent or installing a security product, it's possible to use a local path to the appropriate installer, e.g. in a software install task.
  21. Most likely the client has WMI broken. Try rebuilding WMI on such client as per https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askperf/2009/04/13/wmi-rebuilding-the-wmi-repository/.
  22. ESET doesn't send visited URLs unless related to malware detection. Blacklists are local; either downloaded within the Rapid response module or by LiveGrid in regular intervals. Only Parental control (not part of ESET NOD32 Antivirus) sends DNS requests in an encrypted form to ESET's servers to determine a particular website's classification.
  23. Mediaoaktree.com is probably an ad provider, we've unblocked it for now. Next time please report possible incorrect blocks as per the instructions at https://support.eset.com/kb141.
  24. FusionCore is a PUA which is typically bundled with installers as a dll. The detection is correct. PUA detection is optional.
