  1. ESET doesn't access your webcam but asks you for an action if another application attempts to access it. You can disable webcam protection in the main gui.
  2. Can you explain the purpose of blank javacripts loaded from js.genieessp.com and cfts1tifqr.com? To me it appears the site was hacked.
  3. Please provide logs gathered with ESET Log Collector so that we can check if there are duplicate rules created.
  4. If I remember correctly, running a scan of a file with esets_scan will also show a list of installed modules.
  5. Please gather logs with ESET Log Collector and post the generated archive here so that we can check the version of installed modules and a list of software that is installed on the machine.
  6. Edit the rule that has both the local and remote IP addresses same. Use only local IP addresses if you want to block any communication on these ports from outside.
  7. The question is how often the issues occur. If it doesn't take too long to reproduce, I'd start with temporarily pausing real-time protection. During reproduction, generate logs as per https://support.eset.com/kb3404. When done, raise a support ticket for customer care so that the case is tracked properly and provide the logs.
  8. If Ignore is set for a particular certificate, the communication that utilizes the certificate is not intercepted, ie. it remains untouched by ESET and therefore the original certificate remains used.
  9. As for ThreatSense settings, these must be naturally different for each scanner and on-demand scanner profile. If they were to be set globally at one place, you couldn't create different on-demand scan profiles with different cleaning or scan settings and you couldn't configure to run scans with in-depth scan parameters.
  10. You should be able to use the license key to activate any language version of the ESET product unless it was restricted by the issuer. If it was issued by Canon-Sol Japan, you should contact them. You can provide your public license ID and I'll check it out.
  11. Does switching to pre-release updates and rebooting the machine make a difference?
  12. Please attach the ransomware note here.
  13. Do not specify both local and remote ports and a time since the logical AND is applied and both conditions won't be met at a time.
  14. It is not clear to me why the problem should affect only some mailboxes. Whether or not a particular SSL communication is scanned depends on the certificate and application so it's not possible to make some communication utilizing the certificate scanned and the other communication not (ie. when downloading from other mailboxes on the same mail server).
  15. What errors are logged in C:\ProgramData\ESET\RemoteAdministrator\Agent\EraAgentApplicationData\Logs\status.html on a client when the issue occurs? Are there any connection errors in the server's trace log?
  16. Please raise a support ticket for your local customer care since logs from a logging version of the Outlook plug-in will be needed.
  17. Where exactly are you trying to add your license? In the license manager at my.eset.com or in ELA or EBA?
  18. Ok, so to avoid scanning and modification of the IMAPS or HTTPS communication, set the action to Ignore instead of Scan.
  19. I'd raise a support ticket for customer care and provide them with the memory dump as well as ELC logs to find out if there's a correlation with ESET.
  20. On Mac ESET does not intercept SSL communication. Do you have only the default ports 80, 8080 and 3129 entered in the list of ports in the Web access protection setup?
  21. While it is possible to create a Web Control rule to log every accessed url, it's not practical since the log would grow quickly to hundreds of MB or even GB which would likely also cause performance issues. You can give it a try but then I would also suggest decreasing the log retention period from 90 days to 7 days let's say.
  22. I fully understand that not 100% of users can be satisfied with GUI, however, there are many users who appreciate the variety of settings that ESET offers to edit. However, we are open to any constructive feedback since we make our products for you, our users.
  23. You'd need to disable real-time protection in the advanced setup in order for Windows Defender's real-time protection to be activated:
  24. Does switching to pre-release updates in the advanced update setup make a difference?
