ESET File Security and Microsoft WSUS
Marcos replied to Mihlfeld's topic in ESET Products for Windows Servers
I wonder if you browse websites that you need to keep http checking enabled on the server. It's always been disabled by default on servers as it may cause issues, for instance, due to bugs in Windows Filtering Platform. Do you have SSL scanning disabled? -
Are you able to modify all other settings? If so, try to reproduce the issue while logging all operations and events using Process monitor. When done, save the log, compress it, upload it to a safe location and pm me the download link.
-
Not necessarily. Please create a SysInspector log as per the instructions here and submit it to ESET along with a link to this thread as described here.

ekrn.exe stop working
Marcos replied to carmor's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
This issue will be solved in a newer Anti-Stealth module. -
If you are not able to locate the malware, create a SysInspector log and submit it instead along with a link to this topic.

I assume it was a potentially unwanted application that was detected. In that case, a user consent is required before an action is taken.

Eset SS v6 DELAYS my internet!
Marcos replied to ronxp2000's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Does changing firewall integration to "Personal firewall is completely disabled" make a difference? If not, try uninstalling ESS completely. I assume it won't make any difference either. -
HTML/ScrInject.B.Gen in my asp web site
Marcos replied to youssefgsm's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Please report it to ESET as per the instructions here and provide a complete url which is detected. -
The url doesn't work anymore. If it was detected by the http scanner it must have been blocked. Just to make sure, post the appropriate record from your Treat log which should look like as follows: 10. 8. 2013 20:05:30 HTTP filter file hxxp://www.eicar.org/download/eicar.com Eicar test file connection terminated - quarantined pc\admin Threat was detected upon access to web by the application: C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\opera.exe.

ESET Smart Security for Windows 8
Marcos replied to Wortex's topic in ESET Beta Products for Home Users
GUI is subject to change as the program develops over time. I presume even more people will prefer the new gui we're working to the current one in v6/v7- 8 replies

WIth Firefox 22 and newer, it's necessary to import the ESET root certificate manually. This is already fixed in Internet protection module 1073 currently available on pre-release servers.
-
Did you contact ESET, LLC in the US to get a trial license for an ESET Enpoint product?
-
As long as it's valid it's possible to use any version of the product you purchased. However, since v2 was discontinued a long time ago I don't assume the license is still valid.

This issue will be fixed in the next firewall module build. You can work around it easily by installing v7 from scratch, just make sure the folder c:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Smart Security doesn't exist prior to installing v7.

Please post detailed information from your Threat log (ie. the path to the file, the name of the threat detected, action taken and other additional information).

No, only business versions of the products allow for creation of a local copy of update files (so-called mirror). What's the approximate size of the files you have issues with? Are you able to download smaller files than 10 MB fine?

DirtyDecrypt.exe file locking ransomware virus
Marcos replied to Jad's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
I'd suggest sending a couple of encrypted files to ESET as per the instructions here so that we can investigate if they can be decrypted. -
Document Protection - Enable vs. System Integration
Marcos replied to LocknetSSmith's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
No, it won't work. Firts, Document protection must be integrated in the system. Only after then you can control whether it scans documents or not. As I wrote, I wouldn't recommend enabling integration as it may affect system performance due to a bug in MS Office. Even with document protection disabled, real-time protection will scan MS Office documents anyway. -
Document Protection - Enable vs. System Integration
Marcos replied to LocknetSSmith's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
Enabling Document protection integration will effectively register it in the registry (due to a bug in MS Office causing performance issues, it's disabled by default). Enabling or disabling Document protection will enable or disable document scanning via VSAPI (possible only with integration enabled). -
Eset SS v6 DELAYS my internet!
Marcos replied to ronxp2000's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Ok, so what about disabling Web protection or firewall via gui or Protocol filtering in the advanced setup?
