Constantly receiving error when shutting down system

I have ESET NOD32 v8.0.319 on a Windows 8.1 system. I am constantly getting an error appearing in my Event Logs from egui.exe when I shut down my system. Below is the message;

I do intend upgrading to Windows 10 shortly. I would like to get this fixed beforehand.

OK. Prior to upgrading to Windows 10, I am considering uninstalling NOD32 so no conflict occurs and after the upgrade finishes, then downloading and installing the new version. Does that sound like a good plan?
