alan taylor 2
Windows 7, SP1 and ESS v. 9.0.117.0. Cannot get Banking protection to work on several UK banking sites and Paypal. Any ideas? Have tried with IE, Chrome and Firefox and all combinations of Ask me/secured browser and normal browser. Is it simply because ESS does not have these URLs in the database? alan taylor 2
Found out today that it was HitmanPro.Alert 3 stopping the Banking Protection from Loading. Uninstalled HMP Alert, clicked on banking Protection from the Tools Window and voila, protected browser loaded. So it is good idea to check for incompatibilities when running a layered defense. Administrators Marcos 5,394 Posted August 2, 2015 Administrators Share Posted August 2, 2015 Thank you for letting us know. We'll try to reproduce it with HMP and see if we could do something about it on our part.
ESET Insiders puff-m-d 120 Posted August 5, 2015 ESET Insiders Share Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Hello, This is a follow-up to what I have observed and reported to the beta portal during the first week after the version 9 betas were released. For the record, I have never received any replies to any issues that I have reported on the beta portal. From what I have observed in my testing, this issue with ESET's Banking & Payment Protection not starting seems to manifest itself when running any app that does keystroke encryption. The following apps that I have used (all provide keyboard encryption) while using the version 9 betas prevent ESET's Banking & Payment Protection from starting: HitmanPro.Alert SpyShelter KeyScrambler Zemana AntiLogger Two apps that are very similar to the above apps but do not have keystroke encryption and does work with ESET's Banking & Payment Protection: Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) From my observations and testing, it seems that the keystroke encryption in any other security app that you may use is what prevents ESET's Banking & Payment Protection from starting. You may want to look in this area for conflicts. HTH... Edited August 5, 2015 by puff-m-d
Administrators Marcos 5,394 Posted August 6, 2015 Administrators Share Posted August 6, 2015 This is a follow-up to what I have observed and reported to the beta portal during the first week after the version 9 betas were released. For the record, I have never received any replies to any issues that I have reported on the beta portal. It's not clear yet if it will be possible to make B&PP compatible with all the mentioned antikeyloggers in future versions. As for the ticket you've raised, I couldn't find any with your forum registration email. If you used a different email address, drop me a pm. I'd like to make sure that your reports actually made it to us.
ESET Insiders puff-m-d 120 Posted August 6, 2015 ESET Insiders Share Posted August 6, 2015 Hello Marcos, PM sent... Please keep me updated on this issue. I have a lot of customers that use the above mentioned security apps. As the ESET version 9 betas move closer to release, I will have to be helping my customers make a decision in their set-ups if they want to use B&PP in the new ESET versions along with these apps. Thanks for your help.
