howardagoldberg 13
I am running ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus on multiple systems: Win7 SP1 x64 Win 8.1 x32 Win 8.1 x64 A few weeks ago, I noticed that the Internet Protection Module was updated from 1173B.1 to 1180 (or 118x, I don't remember the exact number). Shortly thereafter, the module was "downgraded" to 1173B.3. Now, on one Win7 system, the module was upgraded to 1173.5 (no B), but all the other systems are still at 1173B.3. Can someone please advise as to what is taking place, and what the issue is? Thank you.
howardagoldberg 13
... an update: Now, the computer that was on 1173B.3 just received module version 1173.6. The other system is still on 1173.5. Same network. Same desk! Can someone advise as to what is going on here?
Administrators Marcos 4,703 Posted April 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 27, 2015 It's pretty normal. There can be various versions of modules for different versions of ESET products plus some modules are released as staggered updates so it may take time until all users update to a particular module version. rugk 397
BTW what does this B mean? And as far as I know the point in the version number there is also unusually. I think actually the Internet protection module is the only one with such a dot. So does this mean something special?

rugk 397
Okay, but what does the "B" in a module version number mean anyway? Edited May 16, 2015 by rugk
ESET Insiders toxinon12345 32 Posted June 21, 2015 ESET Insiders Share Posted June 21, 2015 I think these modules are more frequent in Beta testing of new releases, example: right now it would be the internet protection module (1203b), HIPS module (1186b), the new config module (1134b) and translation support module (1363b) i suppose precedence of module download would be beta channel first, then your prefered update channel (usually regular) and then your not prefered channel (usually pre-release)
