Protect Cloud Interface Changes

Recommended Posts

Hi

Has there been an update to Protect Cloud overnight.

All the columns are mixed up, and when I go into 'Attention required' or 'Security Risks' it no longer tells you what the problem is, and I cant see a column to add back in to show it?!

I have similar issues since the update, my custom columns had all reset and when I now do a manual search at the top for a client, it shows completely different columns to how it appears when I drill down the side bar OU structure for our organisation.

Really frustrating and Protect Cloud just seems to be getting slower and slower - on-prem Protect was much better.

In ESET PROTECT (version: 5.3.9.1) you removed a very important column: Worst Functionality Problem. Now the main dashboards "Security Risks" and "Attention Required" are completely useless, since now there is no simple way to sort devices by problems. Additionally, the dashboard filters don't respect now the column selections and order.

Oh, and now you can't drag and drop endpoints between folders!

A couple of remarks regarding the "worst functionality problem":

  • With more issues of the same severity, the one to show was chosen randomly, so the overall information could be misleading

  • The functionality problems can still be seen in the side panel

  • The advanced filter can order them based on the severity

  • The list of problems can be grouped by severity on the dashboard

  • The autumn release will bring a new dashboard item, „Top functional problems“ graph

I have the same problem, when I adjust the columns and refresh the page it goes back to the default settings - very frustrating and confusing.

Please raise a support ticket to find out if it's a bug or why it behaves like that.

As of today, I have my custom column settings from last week back. Changes to the columns are also saved again, many thanks!

Magically, my custom colums are now back and showing regardless of how I search for find clients.

Yep, same here!

I've raised the issue with ESET partners and I am happy that all of the issues resolved quickly!

Looks like whatever changes were done have been reverted thankfully! The Worst Functionality Problem column is back.

@Marcos Whilst I appreciate if there are multiple issues, it cant show them all, thats what the number icon is for. However removing it completely was not the solution, and hopefully its back for good.

I've noticed another bug since then: if I open a computer directly via the search bar, I can't select "actions", the field is grayed out.

Many thanks for reporting this issue. We perceive it as a bug and we will address it promptly. Overall, we greatly appreciate all valuable feedback. We are considering every suggestion with great precision and we will adjust our products to better meet customer needs

We will also consider bringing back the "Worst Functionality Problem" as a column in the main device table. The reason is that we have completely rewritten the Computer's section, enabling us to implement more effective features in the future. Some features were reduced because they were somehow redundant. However, we appreciate your feedback and are considering bringing it back.

For now, we also suggest using the "Advanced Filter" to filter out computers where specific problems occur. This method is better because it includes not just the worst, but all problems on all computers. In combination with the STATUS, you can identify the most pervasive problems in the network.

Last but not least, the exact list of all problems on a specific computer can be found by clicking on the computer name. In the side panel under the Alerts section, there is a list of all problems for that computer.

We are also working on an improved Status Overview dashboard, which will provide a tile with the top functionality problems to promote this information and provide a drill-down action to fix them.

Same problem here:

- IMPORTANT "Worst Functionality Problem" Column missing
- no more drag and drop between folders

temporary that was fixed, but since a few days these bugs are active again.

with the new UI there are computers shown that have been removed already and when I try to remove them, it say they do not exist.

Please bring back the drag and drop.

Please fix the bug with the columns sorting problem. When clicking on any box in the Dashboard, the saved columns arrangements are not respected.

Please bring back the Worst functionality Problem column. although as you mentioned, there may be cases when there is more than one problem, in real life use many of us still want this functionality.

Also experiencing the disabled Actions button.
Using the 'Advanced Filters' is more clicks just to get the same information that was readily visible.

Doesn't have to be a permanent column, but at least let us choose if we want it!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We truly appreciate it, not only from you but from every contributor as well.

  • The drag and drop issue will be addressed in the ESET PROTECT 5.4 update, which will start rolling out from August 13th
  • We have also decided to reintroduce the 'Worst Functionality Problem' column in upcoming releases. (probably PROTECT version 5.5)
