kapela86 11 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 I just installed ESET PROTECT 9.0.10 VA and in About page it doesn't show correct version.
Administrators Marcos 5,737 Posted December 1, 2021 Administrators Posted December 1, 2021 What information is not correct? https://support.eset.com/en/kb3690
kapela86 11 Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 It doesn't state that it's version "9.0.10" I edited html in browser to show you how in my opinion it should show version information
Administrators Marcos 5,737 Posted December 1, 2021 Administrators Posted December 1, 2021 The version of the package is not displayed anywhere but on the download page. You must check the version of a particular component against the table in the KB that belongs to the given package.
kapela86 11 Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 And that's the problem, right there. You announce "ESET PROTECT 9.0.10 has been released" but there is no easy way to see what version I have installed. Why you don't put "package" version in about page?
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted December 1, 2021 ESET Staff Posted December 1, 2021 My suggestion to the improvement on our side, would be to list the sub-versions of critical components within the release post. Meaning, for us internally it is 9.0.10, however that one consists of Server XXX and Console YYY. Would that be sufficient? Showing the "package version" might be tricky, as from time to time, we update just one of the component of the package, like HTTP Proxy, or others, without adjusting another components, so those are not updated. Keeping the package version listed in the webconsole would required also unnecessary update of the webconsole itself.
kapela86 11 Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Well, at least that's something. You could link to https://support.eset.com/en/kb3690-which-version-of-eset-remote-administrator-or-eset-security-management-center-server-and-related-components-do-i-have
Administrators Marcos 5,737 Posted December 1, 2021 Administrators Posted December 1, 2021 Added a link to the KB to the release announcement in this forum.
