pclaptop 0
How do I block a single IP address so as to not get spam email from a known data mining web site! They generate a different email address ahead of the ampersand ( @ ) every time but it comes from the same domain. Using Windows 7 Ultimate with EIS 11.0.159.0 thanks in advance
Administrators Marcos 5,231 Posted January 20, 2018 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2018 What you can do is to provide unrecognized spam sent to customer care in the eml or msg format. Blacklisting sender's IP address is possible only in server mail security products.
pclaptop 0
Marcos, first thank you for reply. Not even in the firewall settings can i block a particular IP address?
Administrators Marcos 5,231 Posted January 21, 2018 Administrators Share Posted January 21, 2018 If you are referring to email communication, then blocking the IP address of the email server from which you download email is not what you want. TomFace 539
Check your e-mail service for blocked addresses. You should be able to block the domain. Here's an example from the AT&T Community. https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Internet-Email-Security/How-do-I-block-all-emails-from-specific-domain/m-p/5358863#M29530 Here's the Wiki-How link https://www.wikihow.com/Block-Emails I use Yahoo and I just go in to settings>blocked address and type in the domain name. pclaptop 0
I get the same spam email/message every day from the same domain, they just slightly change the email name before the ampersand " @ " (there are 20+ characters in the name) by one or two hex characters. If i choose "Block Sender" from my JUNK MAIL tab, it only blocks that variation, on that day! When I select "Show full header" the sending/originating domain is the same for each daily spam email. I googled the domain's IP address and it is known for spam emails! thanks TomFace for reply
