webyourbusiness 4
When can we expect a product that will protect Surface tablets running Windows RT? Customers with business licenses are asking and they are actively being told by Microsoft to get CA antivirus - as they're currently ESET users for their endpoint systems, they want to use ESET protection throughout the organization - even it is is the "home" version (they said). thank you
ESET Moderators Aryeh Goretsky 366 Posted October 15, 2013 ESET Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2013 Hello, Devices which run Windows RT like the Microsoft Surface RT, Asus VivoTab RT, Dell XPS 10, Lenovo Yoga 11 and so forth are essentially "locked" by Microsoft. They can run Modern Windows (formerly known as Metro design language) apps out of the Windows Store, but they cannot run any third-party programs on their desktops or elsewhere. Right now, the only anti-malware software available is what's bundled onto the devices in the form of Microsoft's own Windows Defender. For more information, please see the following article from ESET's blog, We Live Security: A White Paper: Windows 8's Security Features. Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted October 16, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 16, 2013 ESET products require a x86 / x64 (CISC) compatible processor to run. ARM architecture (RISC) is not supported.

Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted August 8, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2016 Does ESET have any protection for a Surface 3? Some people are running free antivirus like bit Defender on it. Surface 3 is equipped with Intel i3/i5/i7 CPU so it should not be running Windows RT. You should be able to install ESET's products on it.
