1. Hello, Just out of curiosity, can I ask what brand and model of laptop is being used, and approximate specs (CPU, RAM, storage)? There's a wide variety of laptops out there, and I would expect the experience could differ at least a little based on that. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
2. Hello, If there is some domain blocking going on via hosts file, a browser extension or plugin, or a device like the router or a Pi-hole that could explain what the reCAPTCHA button is not appearing. If you are still unable to access the website, perhaps giving your local distributor a call? From looking at https://www.eset.com/il/about/contact/, you can contact ESET's distributor in Israel by telephone at 03-6290845 (Sunday-Thursday, 9:00AM-6:00PM). Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
3. Hello, The program dates back to 2013 and was intended for use with Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway running on Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 or Windows Server 2008 R2. As best as I can tell, Microsoft ended support for Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway in April 2020. You can find ESET's current business offerings at https://www.eset.com/int/business/small-and-medium/. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
4. Hello, I believe the Windows Antimalware Executable is a component of the Microsoft Defender software, and not from ESET. Even though ESET is installed on your computer and Microsoft Defender is not active, it will still run itself periodically in order to download updates and perhaps even periodically check for threats. It could be that one of these operations is being performed, and that is why you are seeing the activity from the program. Unfortunately, though, as it is a Microsoft program we do not have any specific input into this behavior, so you will need to check with Microsoft to find out why its processor utilization is so high. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
5. Hello, ESET is currently looking to speak with existing customers of its ESET PROTECT Cloud, ESET PROTECT on-prem, and ESET Enterprise Inspector solutions in order to conduct some qualitative research interviews. These interviews will allow ESET to better define the future of these flagship products. Your use should fall into one of the following usage categories for any of the above-mentioned products: 10-25 seats 25-100 seats 100-500 seats 500-999 seats 1,000-4,999 seats 5,000+ seats Geographic location: anywhere For more information, including time commitment and compensation, please fill out this form: https://surveys.hotjar.com/a7ed6b76-6848-45aa-bdd2-73bf7343872e. ESET is currently looking to speak only to direct customers using one (or more) of the above products. If you are a managed service provider (MSP) or managed security service provider (MSSP), please stay tuned for a separate announcement. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them, but it would probably be best to fill out the survey form and hear back from one of my colleagues in product development. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

8. Hello, Those detections are for files containing an exploit for the vulnerability. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
9. Hello, Just to follow up since I've been out of the office, CVE-2021-40444 is currently detected as DOC/TrojanDownloader.Agent.DIC and DOC/TrojanDownloader.Agent.DHY. For more information, please see ESET Knowledgebase Article # 8122, Does ESET protect me from the Microsoft Windows remote code execution vulnerability CVE-2021-40444? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
10. Hello, You poseed a message using a guest account, which are intended for support questions. Pricing is determined by a number of factors and set by your country's distributor in conjunction with ESET. You will need to contact your country's distributor if you have a question about how pricing works. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
11. Hello, Please check to see if there are pending (or missing) Windows Updates. Allow those to run, restart the computer to apply them, and then see if ESET NOD32 Antivirus completes its updates. Pending Windows updates can block the installation of other software programs. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
12. Hello, TronScript, perhaps? Perhaps setting up a process exclusion for it would work. Just make sure that you are whitelisting the script itself and not the command prompt. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
13. Hello, It is normal to see that some files could not be opened during a scan. The ESET Knowledgebase Article at https://support.eset.com/en/kb2155-error-notifications-in-computer-scan-log explains the conditions under which this will occur (file held open exclusively by the OS, password-protected archive and so forth). For more information about the 'infiltration,' a copy of the relevant log file entries would be needed. EICAR is a "test" file used to check whether security software is installed and configured correctly. More information can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EICAR_test_file. Regards, Aryeh Gore
14. Hello, As long as you downloaded it directly from the author or an app store they published it in (Google Play Store, Apple App Store, etc.) it should be okay. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
15. Hello, ESET has regularly published information on Brazilian banking trojans on WeLiveSecurity at https://www.welivesecurity.com/br/ (please note these articles are in Portuguese). You can reach our tech support in Brazil using the form at https://www.eset.com/br/suporte/contato/ or on Twitter as https://twitter.com/eset_brasil. ESET also has a distributor in Portugal. Their contact information may be found at https://www.eset.com/pt/about/contactos/. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
16. Hello, If you think a site has been miscategorized, report it using the form at https://support.eset.com/en/kb141-submit-a-virus-website-or-potential-false-positive-sample-to-the-eset-lab?ref=esf. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
17. Hello, ESET Mail Security for Linux is based on the v4 engine which is quite old, and has been in Limited Support for quite a while (continues to receive module updates, only fixes for critical bugs and vulnerabilities, support for existing customers, etc.). It has not been offered for download for quite some time now. There are no plans for a successor product at the current time, but that could change given market opportunity. It is best that you contact your local ESET office or distributor to discuss further, as this forum is primarily for user-to-user peer support. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
18. Hello, It could be a time zone display issue. Yearly licenses run for a full 365 days, though, so this should not be a cause for concern. It is just a cosmetic issue, as @shocked noted. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
19. Hello, If you believe a file or website is incorrectly being detected by ESET's software, follow the instructions at https://support.eset.com/en/kb141-submit-a-virus-website-or-potential-false-positive-sample-to-the-eset-lab to request that is be re-analyzed. This forum is not the place to dispute detections. As such, we are now drawing the topic to a close and locking this message thread. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
20. Hello, See https://forum.eset.com/topic/26716-suggestion-for-all-eset-products/?tab=comments#comment-126458 Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
21. Hello, NEC Electronics spun off Renesas Electronics in 2002. As a result, drivers dated after that time for NEC hardware such as USB controllers may show up as having device drivers written by Renesas. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
22. Hello, For information about setting rules for ESET's webcam protection, see https://help.eset.com/eis/12/en-US/idh_page_spying.html. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
23. Hello, I noticed some problems using the contact us form with Chrome 91 and Edge 91, and have reported these to our web team. In the meantime, I am one of the authors on WeLiveSecurity. How may I be of assistance? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
24. Hello, No, this is not a good idea. You could download a fake antivirus program which further infects your computer, steals information, etc. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
25. Hello, Perhaps the following article will be of use: https://support.eset.com/en/kb3192-disable-windows-update-notifications-in-eset-windows-home-products Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
