  1. Hello, Here is a snippet of a post I made on Reddit discussing the differences between ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Internet Security and ESET Smart Security Premium: Feature Comparison NOTE: This section is updated from the post here discussing the ESET Version 13 consumer programs. Program► Feature▼ ESET NOD32 Antivirus1 ESET Internet Security ESET Smart Security Premium Advanced Machine Learning ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Advanced Memory Scanner ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Anti-Malware1 ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Anti-Phishing ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Anti-Spam 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Anti-Theft 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Banking & Payment Protection 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Botnet Protection 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Cloud-based protection2 ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Connected Home Monitor ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Deep Behavioral Detection ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Exploit Blocker ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ File encryption 🚫 🚫 ✔️ Firewall 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Native 64-bit Support ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Network Attack Protection 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Gamer Mode3 ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Offline Updates4 🚫 🚫 🚫 Parental Control5 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Password Manager 🚫 🚫 ✔️ Remote Management4 🚫 🚫 🚫 Removable Media Device Control ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Router Vulnerability Scanner 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Script-based Attack Protection ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ System Registry Scanner ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ System Settings Restorer ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ UEFI Scanner ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Vulnerability Shield 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ Webcam Protection 🚫 ✔️ ✔️ WMI Scanner ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ [I'll point out that this is very much a "best effort" by me, and it's possible I got some things wrong. Check with an actual ESET sales person if you have a question about supported features.] Notes 1 Although this program contains the word 'Antivirus' in its name, this is strictly for marketing purposes because that's what most people use as a search term. These programs are all actually beter described as anti-malware programs, and detect adware, agents, bootkits, droppers, injectors, password stealers, potentially unsafe applications, potentially unwanted applications, ransomware, rootkits, spyware, trojans, viruses and worms, just to name a few of the things caught by the software. Today, actual computer viruses account for less than 10% of malware detected on a day-to-day basis. 2 Also known as ESET LiveGrid (and previously called ThreatSense.Net), this provides real-time threat telemetry as well as assists in blocking certain kinds of malicious software such as ransomware, dangerous web sites, and so forth. 3 Prevents pop-ups and messages from being disabled while running full-screen applications. Called Gamer Mode in home versions and Presentation Mode in business versions. 4 This feature is only available in business editions. See this post fore more information. 5 Blocking of undesirable web sites. Called Parental Control in home versions and Web Control in business versions. 2. Hello, If you are downloading from the US web site, for example: https://www.eset.com/us/home/smart-security-premium/download/, look under Download Option, click on the Configure Download text, and then click on the Changelog▼ text. The changelog will now be displayed below the download link. The installer for the software discusses new features added in the major version of the software. In other words, the changes from version 13 to 14, and not the specific changes between 14.1.0.19 and 14.1.0.20, as those are displayed in the changelog. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  3. Hello, Please see the following thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/26533-eset-file-security-for-linux-support-the-solaris-os-11x/ Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  4. Hello, The article at https://support.eset.com/en/kb318-features-available-in-windows-eset-home-products gives an overview of what feature each program has. Like my colleague @Marcos, I would suggest looking at ESET Internet Security for its network security features. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  5. Hello, Here are instructions for uninstalling ESET's software on Windows 10: https://support.eset.com/en/kb5547-uninstall-your-eset-home-product-in-windows-10 Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  6. Hello, These sound like spam—they are likely not from the companies whom you mentioned, but scammers trying to get your credit card/banking details. I would suggest just flagging them as spam. Unfortunately, there is not much else one can do, as replying or attempting to unsubscribe just tells them they have found a valid email address, and they will send even more spam as a result. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  7. Hello, Just to add to my colleague @Marcos' advice, you could try excluding the following directories %ProgramData%\ESET\ %ProgramFiles%\ESET\ %ProgramFiles(x86)%\ESET\ However, there is no guarantee that this will prevent any conflicts from occurring. As a result of running multiple anti-malware programs at once, systems may experience performance issues, including but not limited to periodic freezes, lockups, crashes and other anomalous behavior that will be difficult to troubleshoot because the software is being used in an unsupported fashion. I do understand that you are in a bit of a situation here because the client chose a managed third-party vendor for one of its LOB applications who has particular requirements, but I did want to make you aware of the pitfalls the client may be facing. Please keep in mind that any workarounds which are implemented for the client are going to require careful monitoring by all parties to minimize any problems due to this. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  8. Hello, Interesting. I had suspected scenarios like these might be coming into play, but did not have any specific data. Thank you for sharing that. One thing I am curious about: Since the software you mentioned is hardware-locked, what happens when the computer it is being run on develops a non-recoverable fault or fails completely? Do you keep an inventory of identical computer parts in order to perform hardware swaps? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  9. Hello, You have come into ESET's technical support forum and are asking a business development question, to which the technical people here have responded with the information that they have available. If you have further questions on the matter, you may ask ESET's business development team, who may be contacted via the web page in my previous message to you, @total. As your question has now been fully and completely answered to the best of our technical support forum's abilities, I shall now mark this thread as closed. Have a wonderful day, and thank you for your continued interest in ESET's solutions! Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  10. Hello, If you do not mind my asking, could you tell us a little more about why you are still using Microsoft Windows Vista? Is it that you have specific hardware or software that does not work on a newer version of Windows, or perhaps you like its user interface/the user experience more, or something else? We typically do not get a lot of feedback (good or bad) from folks who run Windows Vista, so am trying to understand a bit more when we encounter this decade-and-a-half old operating system still being used. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  11. Hello, While I am not familiar with the specifics of this particular version of the software, I can confirm it is a legitimate version of ESET's software available through partners of ESET. Special releases like this are done through ESET's business development team—at one point my office was just down theirs, and I remember them mentioning something about it. If you are interested in providing a specialized solution to your customers (not just this, but things like secure USB solutions, mail scanning appliances, etc.) I would suggest contacting them. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  12. Hello, I am not aware of any application-level software solution that detects IMSI catchers. Perhaps you will find the following of interest: SeaGlass: Enabling City-Wide IMSI-Catcher Detection from the University of Washington in Seattle. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  13. Hello, ESET's software is licensed directly, as well as through distributors and resellers worldwide. You would want to check with the ESET office, distributor or reseller directly to determine what forms of payment they take. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  14. Hello, It appears that the license was overused and terminated due to piracy. You will need to contact eBay to request a refund from the seller. A global list of authorized partners from which you can purchase legal licenses can be found at https://www.eset.com/int/business/partner/find/ on ESET's web site. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  15. Hello, The record for this license is for a different product. Can I ask where the license was purchased from? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  16. Hello, The license with Public License ID: 33C-5ER-WBR was purchased from ESET's Polish distributor from an email address ending in the windowslive.com domain. That license has been terminated, and a new set of license credentials sent to that email address. If that is not the distributor you purchased from, and not the email address you used when you purchased the license, then I would suggest that you go through your records to determine whom you purchased the license from and request a refund. For a list of authorized ESET's worldwide partners visit https://www.eset.com/int/business/partner/find/. Your country's distributor can direct you to a list of authorized resellers who can provide you with a legitimate license. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  17. Hello, There was no license found for any of ESET's programs when searched for using the email address associated with your forum registration. Please provide your Public License ID (PLID) in the form of: xxx-xxx-xxx. You can find the PLID by opening the ESET user interface for your program from the ESET icon in the system tray notification area and pressing Ctrl+U to open the Details for Technical Support window. The first line in the window should display the PLID, which you can double-click on to copy and paste into your reply. Alternatively, contact the reseller or distributor who sold you the license. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  18. Hello, From the description on their website: Source: https://www.metaflows.com/features/antivirus/ Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  19. Hello, As I believe my colleague @Marcos noted, the feature is being considered for a release of ESET's home software at some point in the future. That said, I do not know if there is a specific version or date targeted. Sometimes, features appear first in a consumer versions and migrate to the enterprise versions, and sometimes they first appear in enterprise versions and migrate to the consumer ones. One thing to keep in mind here is that you are dealing with two very different classes of users with wildly-diverging software-use cases and expectations about protection, performance, usability, and so forth. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  20. Hello, You should be able to do that by contacting your local ESET distributor or closest office. Where in the world are you located? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  21. Hello, It has been available for a while to business customers: https://www.eset.com/int/business/solutions/cloud-sandbox-analysis/ Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  22. Hello, Although it is a few years old, the following blog post by VirusTotal may be of interest: https://blog.virustotal.com/2012/08/av-comparative-analyses-marketing-and.html I would be very cautious of trying to extrapolate the efficacy of any security product based solely on VirusTotal results. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  23. Hello, A dark mode option is in consideration for a subsequent release of the software, however, there is no specific time associated with the request. Keep in mind that this type of change is not a matter of simply changing the background colors. Color choices and design of icons and other imagery along UI components and even text layout (size, positioning, typeface choice, etc.). All of these have to be carefully reviewed and, if needed, adjusted for compatibility as well as for any impact to the supportability of the programs (for example, what happens when a blurry or low-res screenshot is sent in with a ticket). Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  24. Hello, If memory serves, the last release of ESET File/Mail/Gateway Security to support Solaris OS was Version 4.0. It was released in 2011 and support for it ended in 2015. If this is something you have a need for in an enterprise environment, I would suggest contacting your closest ESET office to find out if a custom solution is available. Contact information can be found at https://www.eset.com/int/about/contact/. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
  25. Hello, Considering this is ESET's own support forum, I think it is reasonable to assume that most people think quite highly of it. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
