Actually, the html errors are not what I am referring to. A few of the noted "Application" processes are missing the leading character on the .exe prefix; e.g.

    • C:\Windows\System32\tvdm.exe - should be C:\Windows\System32\ntvdm.exe
    • C:\Windows\System32\egsvr32.exe  - should be C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe
    • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\egsvr32.exe  - should be C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe
    • C:\Windows\System32\undll32.exe - should be C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe
    • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\undll32.exe - should be C:\Windows\SysWOW64\rundll32.exe

Check the entire article for references to the above.

Thanks again, that KB has been fixed.

Finally if one insists on enabling macros in Office apps, I would strongly recommend that the following HIPS rule be created on all endpoint devices. This rule will block all script executables from being spawned from an Office app.

Refer the the rule details given in this Eset KB article section. Note I duplicated the entire article section because there are "typo's" in the article:

Thanks itman, there are some html errors in kb6119 that we'll fix.

Windows 10 1903 is starting to roll out - will upgrading be blocked if you have ESET Endpoint Encryption installed?
As far as I know this can be requested at Microsoft :D - don't know where though

We do have this content available

    Great, thank you Tomas.

Another Forum Feedback/Question, what is the best practice to report misplaced posts or topics that are in the wrong spot in the Forums? I always felt like the Report function would be too harsh for a situation like that.

The Report option is correct, I think. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't view those as overtly "negative", others use that to comment on a post or thread and the Reports list for Mods is a good place to not lose track of these. As long as you leave a comment regarding why you flagged the thread or post, it should be fine.

  7. I'm ggPRO, I'm old, and easily confused, and my computer guy said I should ditch all other security sites and use ESET.  Thus, here I am.  I edit speech recognition for a living, in medical field.  Eh, whatever.

WIN 7, still hoping a few years with 7 left so any unhappiness with 10 will be worked out.

Trying to finish setting up ESET on 2 computers, 2 smartphones.

So I signed up for multi device.  When I go to download it, it asks me to choose from 3 different ESET products, none of which is called multi device download.  ???  Now what?  No idea what I paid for already, except it was called Multi Device for home and small business.  Looks outstanding.  I am truly handicapped -- mentally handicapped!  Ah, to be 12 again, at least in my brain.  Now, too much white matter loss or something.

I would very much like to get ESET up and running so I can secure my computers which now are not being used until I get ESET running.  (sigh).

could someone please tell me how to determine WHICH of these choices includes Multi Device for home and business?  THANK YOU (the 3 listed are:  ESET NOD32; ESET Internet Security; ESET Smart Security):(

Hi ggPRO, Multi-Device Pack means that you CHOOSE which products you want to install, for your scenario, you would choose any two home products depending on which features you want and the computer you're installing to, and the mobile product for your device.

All is explained here if you want to read it hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3465/, but the instructions to get you going (once you know which products you want), are here hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3465/#online

To see a comparison of the Windows products (if you have macOS, you would choose the Mac products), see hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3753/

    Hi Guys,

New to ESET form, my name is Ben. I am a Network Consultant for a small I.T company in South Africa.

We Support mostly everything from a-z but unfortunately I do not know everything from a-z so this is why

I decided to join this community.  ^_^

I am very excited to get to know you all!  :D

I just have a question about ESET File Security.

I have a server that runs Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials.

I am unable to find a download link for this specific server, it almost seems like there is no version available for this server.

    hxxp://www.eset.com/...offline,179,,,,

    Am I perhaps missing something?

    Kind Regards,

    Ben.

According to hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2893/#fsyou can install EFSW on SBS 2011. Maybe just the Download page incorrectly lists the supported versions?

  9. Microsoft Windows 10 was released July 29, 2015. We highly recommend that you upgrade your ESET product to the latest version before upgrading to Windows 10.

Which ESET NOD32 Antivirus versions are compatible with Windows 10?

    • ESET NOD32 Antivirus – versions 7.x and later
If you are currently using an ESET product that is compatible with Windows 10, then there is no need to upgrade. All settings and license information will be migrated.

For more information, please see the following ESET resources:

  11. Welcome Supersnake--just for fun I logged back into Wilders and see that my last post there was almost to the day, 2 years ago; time flies.

We've discussed porting over the experience from previous forum accounts, but this is still an ongoing topic. For the time being, everyone's posts and such are starting over when you join the new ESET Security Forum.

We'll let you know of any changes as we continue to discuss this topic.

  12. Hi all, I just found ESET today while looking for apps for my Android Galaxy S4 phone and Windows XP PC...

I am not very computer knowledgeable and would like to know if someone will kindly explain to me what a "root" is? How do I know if my phone has one?

    Thank you ahead of time.

Welcome CO GAL 59. As you probably noticed in regard to ESET and mobile devices, we don't support rooted devices. Check out Wikipedia for an explanation of what rooting a device does, and I would guess that if you're unfamiliar with it, your device probably isn't.

  15. Thanks for the feedback @cutting_edgetech. We are working on improving and streamlining the process for submitting infected links, phishing sites, malware samples and false positives. We will definitely keep you informed of the changes we implement.

For now, we have the following resources for submitting suspicious files:

Additionally, you wrote that you couldn't find the information after searching on "Eset's website", can you provide a few more details about where and how you searched, becauset the ESET Knowledgebase article linked above (SOLN141) should have resulted in your search.

I looked for an address with instruction on how to submit a suspected infected site yesterday, but was unable to find it on Eset's website. I would like to see a dedicated section for this on the forum.
