  1. It does. However, the program itself does not update automatically. It's not possible to test upgrade on millions of different system configurations and because of tight integration with the operating system, sometimes issues may occur. It's similar to installing a service pack for the OS for instance. No problems should occur but since there are millions of various system configurations, on some it may not be as seamless as it should.
  2. My users run lot's of CAD/CAM software, one of them is CATIA. They will complain about everything on their workstation. Even if they see new icon in tray, they will complain how workstation is slower. Especially if they know they have antivirus on their workstation. Of all antivirus software I tested I choosed ESET Endpoint Antivirus (later Security) becase it has lowest impact on their work. Yes we all have SSD as primary hard drive. It really helps antivirus to stay undetected by users.
  3. Tried to execute simple net use command from .bat but without success...
  4. Hi! Is it possible to export single or multiple policies that are applied to PDF for review and documentation? Regards!
  5. I had nightmare setting up this in v5. Basically simple allow will now work if you don't copy literal string for example for Vendor...If it's missing one empty string rule will not run...I had Vendor name like "Vendor name " (note space at the end). Support suggested that I populate list of devices on client. This is article for v6 hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3442/?viewlocale=en_US
  6. To be honest don't know any. So far I was able to create firewall rules based on fqdn only on hardware firewalls. The problem I have is that I need to prevent users from accessing any ip/port except for Microsoft Windows Update servers and there only 80/443. But finding ip addresses for them is nearly impossible...so at v5 I'm left with option to enter IP, IP range or subnet (would be nice if you gave IP list option). On v6 you gave option to control access on firewall for services so I plan to use that once we migrate to v6 and allow windows update service.
  7. Clients are all controlled by policy in which this setting is unchecked.
  8. In Windows Desktop v5 > Kernel > Settings > Log Files > Save logs from level: Informative records is selected and unmarked. Is there any other policy rule that could activate this diagnostics?
  9. Hi! I have noticed in HIPS logs strange Operation unknown operation and strange Rule int3rn4l. Included in attachment is list of HIPS rules I have defined on ERA. As I look configuration from clients I also don't notice this rule. What could be generating this strange rule name? ERA 5.3.39.0 EES 5.0.2265
  10. Could you please, confirm this? This is something we are investigating to implement but would require third party product. If ESET could promise this for 6.x release we would wait. Regards!
  11. I guess same settings exist in v6, but in v5 I had to disable these settings: Windows desktop v5 > Email client > Settings Disable checking upon inbox content change: Yes Windows desktop v5 > Email Filter > Settings Scan read messages: No Repeat scan after update: No Settings these options helped in preventing similar problems.
  12. I don't like to allow all communication, but if it works...
  13. It's separate product and only for Windows. This works only for v5 products: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2501/?viewlocale=en_US I haven't tested it on v6 yet.
  14. I had this problem in v5, mainly with wifi clients. I had to resort to ESET Authentication Server for trusted zones...however they said they will look into making this for v6, but never posted feedback...
  15. Hi, Sorry for the late answer but I have been quite busy. I want our servers to be as secure as the client PCs and for me it comes naturally to use a firewall on the server too. I know Windows Server has its own firewall but so does Win 7, 8 and 10 - and by having a built in firewall with security products like ESET it does provide centralizes management which is great. Could you please elaborate why you think a Server does not need a firewall? - I just can't think of a reason why a server just shouldn't be as secure as client endpoints :-) Maybe they can't make high performance firewall for server
  16. Can't wait to see Change log for 6.5, seems like you have many improvements...
  17. So it's a problem with hyper-v or what? I don't have any endpoint with hyper-v enabled....yet
