  1. As always, with Eset, support is free of charge for licensed users. Their tech agents are quite simply the best at what they do. Please do report back to thread upon resolution of your cases, as it may be beneficial to others.

I know it's off-topic, but why not say this (what you said) publicly and vote for ESET. Exactly with the arguments you said they are currently participating in the European Business Awards:)

  2. What are you searching for?

I'm not a Facebook user, but "report / Quote / Multiquote buttons" rather sounds like the buttons in this forum...

    Oh, I forgot what I wrote... :)

    Sorry for that.

So about the "marking as solved" - yes it should be there. However I think it is only available when you made a few posts... (I think there was this limitation)

  3. I can agree to everything - except of 5.

    5. I'm sure this is not a feature (at least not everything). Look at minute 2.40 - the default button behaves very strangely there.

Or look at 1:57! The button "default" next to the button "Cancel" does not work at all. It does just nothing...

    And now a good message:

With 2 you're right - yes there stands 2 Mhz :D  (maybe this has to do with Microsoft Virtual PC...)

  4. I don't exactly know what the issue is (Note that it there is an issue with Windows Vista x64 and Windows 8/8.1 (regardless whether it's 32 or 64bit), so it doesn't affect 64bit systems generally.

But it seems as there was no update released until now.

However I haven't tried to run ESET SysRescue Live on Windows Vista 64bit or Windows 8/8.1 and so I don't know what (doesn't) happen there...

Maybe you can just try it on these systems and you'll see whether it works or not...

  5. It was already announced but now it has gone reality. The USB antivirus ClevX DriveSecurity (powered by ESET) is available in v3 now!

It seems as there were mostly background changes, but there are also other nice new things. E.g. ClevX made a complete new website and they made it possible to buy licenses for several USBs and save money!

So have a look on it:

    Go to site

Of course I will test this out, so stay tuned! :D

  6. You're welcome, @TomFace! :)

But now I had to remove the "like TomFace already linked to" because I noticed that I originally wanted to link to something else, where you haven't linked to. (Shame on me for not checking the link before...)

And... now I have noticed another mistake: I really wrote PUA (hover your mouse over it to see the mistake)... :D (so shame on me again...)

  7. Well if all the e-mail headers would be showed in the single-line log entry which is shown in the GUI you would see nothing, because the e-mail headers just wouldn't fit into this small one line.

If you submit an email to ESET you should already send the headers too. In Microsoft Outlook you can do this by "dragging and dropping" the mail into the new mail. This way the original source of the mail will be sent.

And last but not least: If you want to look at the headers you can just use the possibility in your mail client and show them. :)

  8. @Fifaheld

They are out (on the pre-relased servers):

    New modules are out:

    Anti-Stealth-Module: 1069 (20150202)
    HIPS: 1160 (20150203)

To update them switch to pre-released update mode, run an update and restart your system. Then they should be updated and ESS or NOD32 should work correctly.

BTW: When using Windows 10 I would also stay on pre-released update mode, because "it fits better" (they're both pre-release... :))

  9. On virusradar.com I saw quite many descriptions which seem to have an issue.

For example take this search for a "threat" where I recently wanted to link to. Now click on a description, e.g. this one (hxxp://virusradar.com/en/Win32_SlowPCfighter.A/description) and instead of showing you information about the thread it redirects you to the "Latest description" site...

And this is only one example of a threat (with a "redirection issue")...

So obviously there is something wrong...

  10. No it's neither a browser addon nor any kind of (browser) issue, but it's a browser-independent feature of ESS and NOD32 which scans all network traffic.

In your case you surely just tried to download the ...DownloadManager/DM.exe from spamfighter.com. (Okay, I see that it's not exactly you but FightersTray.exe which is trying to downloading the file - maybe an update feature?)

The download has just started, but ESET already detected it as a PUA. I assume in your case it downloads a kind of installer, which is bloated with things like toolbars or something similar.

So the file is blocked before it is on your computer, so scanning your computer has no effect on this.

As already said you can disable the detection of PUAs or exlcude the specific file from the detection, so that this file will be ignored.

BTW: You can search for PUA on all ESET sites and find many, many more things. (actually there is also something about it in my signature)

Edit: Maybe I'm also wrong with the assumption that it is an installer. The name Win32/SlowPCfighter.A (or here) doesn't sound such good...

Edit2: Okay I found this statement of the producer: hxxp://blog.spamfighter.com/general/slow-pcfighter-safe-legit-use.html

However I haven't tested this program and if ESET has a reason for detection this as a PUA, so form your own opinion about this...

  11. Yees it's known by ESET, but they wanted some logs.

Or did they already get them?

    I'm referring to this:

Can you please install the latest version and collect logs from your system with this script after you encounter any of mentioned issues, upload it to safe location and send my a download link with the particular issues description and reference to this thread?

  12. Okay, maybe the planned module update also has nothing to do with this, because when I visit the site mentioned in the second thread I linked with Firefox it also displays the same error.

So maybe this thing with Chrome wouldn't be fixed with the new module update - but as we can't test it actually of course I can't promise anything.

    Windows 7 x64

    Firefox v 35.0.1

    ESS v 8.0.304.x

    Internet protection module: 1165B (20141128)
