  1. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but whenever I do a right click scan I would like to see options in that small scan window to remove, delete, exclude etc it's kind of annoying not having those options atleast to me.

From the right-click context menu, you can run a scan with or without cleaning. To clean threats, simply select the option "Clean with ESET NOD32 Antivirus" (or "Clean files" in v7).

Jumping ship because of a 15 day difference  . Just a tad impatient

you arrived late to the party. I suggest you read the entire thread and you will see that I was already provided with a solution instead of just posting nonesense

I agree , you should really ask a question before posting nonsence. Getting angry and typing nonsence on a public forum, when things don't work to your timescale wont get you anywhere.

We explained what was unclear and Tweak Arena apologized. We'll draw this thread to a close.

  3. Yeah, it's been a common practice to release products on smaller markets first so that potential fixes can be implemented before releasing it to larger markets. Although beta versions are tested thoroughly both internally and by thousands of beta testers, it's never possible to simulate all system and program configurations.

As for support for new operating systems or service packs, ESET has always offered support for them at the time they became available to the public. In the case of Windows 8.1 build 9600, HIPS module 1095 was released for all users on September 30 and Anti-Stealth module 1052 on September 9 and no known issues with Windows 8.1 have been reported yet.

  4. I need an official answer from ESET staff not people bashing me who are ESET fanboys and blindly defend them!

    Hello Tweak Arena,

We are really sorry to see you go. We fully understood your concerns, but we feel responsible to respond to your suggestions.

ESET works closely with its partner network to meet any local market requirements as well as launch dates. We are open to agreement with our local partners on individual launch dates when the situation requires so and technical readiness allows.

The current release version of ESET home products 6.0.316 is fully compatible with Windows 8.1. After installation and activation, your ESET product will update the modules to the most current version to ensure smooth operation on Windows 8.1 (a computer restart will be needed).

ESET Version 7 BETA will update to the final version automatically without uninstalling (same registry keys and files on the disk will be used), so you don’t have to worry about it messing up the registry on your freshly installed OS.

    regards,

  5. Please provide information about the exact version of EAV and modules installed (found in the About window) so that we can reproduce it on our end. Is it Windows 7 x86 or x64? Does the problem persist after disabling Self-defense and restarting the computer?

  6. There are several variants of the police ransomware Ukash / LockScreen released in relatively short intervals. ESET utilizes effective mechanisms to ensure that users are protected against new variants either proactively or in as short time as possible after the authors unleash new variants to the world.

  7. There have been no program component updates (PCU) for EFSW which is the reason why there's no information about them in update.ver and thus it cannot be displayed in the mirror setup either. I don't think there will ever be PCUs for server products that are usually intended for installation on production servers. Updates of security products that are tightly integrated with the operating system should never be automatic and should always be installed with care.

  8. I didn't realize they should all match, and indeed one of them don't. How can I get it changed, should I contact ESET directly or the company I brought the key from?

Yes, contact the distributor who should issue you a license key with a proper company name that would match the other keys. It shouldn't be a problem as long as all keys were purchased by the same company.
