Cyber Security Freezes MAC @ Startup

NRMC

Hi,

I don’t know if this appends to anyone else but to me it does. So problematic that the only solutions it’s the removal of ESET.

When i turn on my mac and after insertion of password it will freeze as soon as it connects to the web. If I start the mac and immediately turn off the wifi card it will work fine, soon as I turn it on... guess, the umbrella comes alive and stays there for nearly 2 to 5 minutes in some occasion. after that it will work fine.

When this appends some apps still work, and as soon as see the eset logo it on screen because i clicked to open av in order to strop rela time protection, the system comes back to real life... This is somewhat annoying and started after latest Capitan update.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

2,2 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Capitan 10.11.6

Thanks

I have the exact same issue. At first I thought I did something wrong somewhere, so I reinstalled everything including the OS from scratch. Guess what...the same thing happened again. I have macOS 10.12.2 and Cyber security pro 6.3.70.1.

ESET Cyber security is full of bugs and issues. And not only in this version all of them. It seems they are just trying to fix a broken piece of software with new versions every year. Mac version is still on version 6 while the Windows version is on 10....you get my point.

I quitted... I'm going to uninstall it from the mac. It's impossible to have it functional... 3 years of AV to the garbage.

Hi NRMC,

Not sure if it's too late, but you may wish to consider trying version 6.4.128.0 which may resolve the freezes for you with ESET installed.
