Administrators Marcos 5,235 Posted August 13, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 13, 2016 Did you upgrade to Win10 from Win7? Have you tried uninstalling ESS and installing it from scratch?
Jhzdkql 0
No, I upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10. And no, I haven't tried that.
bilzebubba 2
I was on Win 10-64 (MS Surface Pro 4) and all worked fine until the anniversary update. I have tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling from scratch three times, and I get the same message as above -- firewall, web access, antiphishing, network attack and botnet all "nonfunctional"
Jhzdkql 0
Really? That's weird. Maybe there will be an update which will fix it. So I should just wait and see if it goes away?
bilzebubba 2
No, I would uninstall and have CCleaner remove any leftover registry entries. That way you would still atleast have Windows firewall and defender doing something to protect you. They'll fix it soon I'm sure.
Administrators Marcos 5,235 Posted August 15, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 15, 2016 If you check for a newer program version and choose to install 9.0.402, does it make a difference?
bilzebubba 2
Worked for me! Smart installer downloaded non-functioning previous version, but then checking for program updates installed a fully functional .402 version, thanks!
