Devrim 0
Hi, Does ESS9 inject root certificates during installation? I vaguely remember reading something about it but I can't find it anymore. I remember BitDefender doing this and lets say I wasn't really happy...
ESET Moderators TomasP 318 Posted October 14, 2015 ESET Moderators Share Posted October 14, 2015 Hello, The certificates are used to enable protecting of the SSL connections as well. If you choose to disable this part of network protection in our product's setup, you can remove the certificates.
Devrim 0
Hi, I understand that the certificates are needed for protecting/injecting itself into SSL connections but is there an option disable adding the certificates on installation? If not, does disabling the SSL protection remove the certificates or do I have to remove it manually?
ESET Moderators TomasP 318 Posted October 14, 2015 ESET Moderators Share Posted October 14, 2015 The feature is enabled by default, so that users are protected without having to enable anything manually, as more and more websites use HTTPS connections. However, when you disable it in the settings, the certificates will be removed automatically. Also, you can choose not to import the certificates to browsers in the settings.
