Since June 28th i'm having problems with my Eset Internet Security, software stop to star with windos when i login, and update fail to execute new files, i contact the support a lot of times by e-mail with NO ANSWER until now, and by phone, when the specialist make a lot of things uninstall, try to reinstal, remote control, log etc, but error MSI1401 is present at the end of installation, it just occours with ESET, all other softwreas and windows are fine, a lot of commands in CMD with adm rights but no way.... Administrators Marcos 5,085 Posted July 19, 2023 Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2023 Are you able to manually create the key ekrn.exe under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options? If not, is it possible to create a key with a different name there? Also it appears that you have several tools like UnhackMe, Wise Care, Trojan Remover, Glary utiltiies installed, maybe some of them is preventing the installer from writing to the registry. Please check the permissions for the above mentioned registry key and make sure that: both the system account and Administrators group have full control granted. If you are , try to see if your Windows is corrupted Run this from CMD Admin sfc /scannow Quote "The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache. Administrators Marcos 5,085 Posted July 20, 2023 Administrators Share Posted July 20, 2023 If you can create the ekrn.exe valua only in safe mode, it means that one of the applications / tools that you have installed is preventing the installer from creating the registry value in normal mode. Not trying to interrupt with Marcos , please follow with him because he is an ESET Staff , I am not But try to download ESET Online Scanner , and put it to detect unwanted apps and unsafe apps , and let it scan deep , does it find something weird?
