I ran this on my desktop with shadow defender on and I don't see any suspicious activity at all from basic analyzing like looking through task manager and control panel for any unknown program drop. From virustotal.com, it looks clean. Can anyone run this and do further analyzing if this file is safe?

I read the old subreddit that multiple users with their antivirus flagged and detected this application as a threat.

What I submitted to Hybrid-Analysis was the download which I assume is the installer for this app. Whether the app itself when installed is safe is another issue.

perhaps some older versions were infected or the developers wrote them in a way that triggered the AV. it doesn't mean that once an app is bad it will always be bad. mistakes happen.

It behooves one to always search for current information on whatever topic one is researching.

Reddit has an entire section dedicated to Deemix: https://www.reddit.com/r/deemix/ . As far as if its malware, refer to this posting by the developer: https://www.reddit.com/r/deemix/comments/invok4/is_deemix_malware/ .

The above said, anything that uses Pyinstaller is potentially dangerous since it will allow for installation of Python apps; many of which are difficult for AV software to detect.

I suppose as well like YouTube downloaders this is in a way a modded version of Deezer so there's always the risk of what else could be hidden. However it looks like it is safe but has copycats that aren't
