Keep ESET On?

I was wondering if I could still keep ESET on my old computer

until I see if my new computer works first or do I

need it taken off my old computer before installing

on my new one

Just uninstall it the standard way via "Add or remove programs", Apps (Win10), start menu, etc. Failing this, you can use the Uninstall tool in safe mode as per https://support.eset.com/en/kb2289-uninstall-eset-manually-using-the-eset-uninstaller-tool.

I think he wants to try it on his new computer first before removing it from his old one but isn't sure if this will work if his license is only for 1 computer

There should be no problem activating a fully functional 30-day trial version and then re-activate the product with the purchased license key.
