Administrators Marcos 5,406 Posted October 9, 2019 Administrators Share Posted October 9, 2019 If you block "facebook.com" and then try to open https://www.facebook.com, is it blocked? We do not perform SSL introspection on MacOS so the question is if blocking the main FB page works or not.
Shaival 0
@Dump Kids I experienced the same but in solution add 443 port in HTTP scanner setup will help to block secure sites.

Administrators Marcos 5,406 Posted October 9, 2019 Administrators Share Posted October 9, 2019 Port 443 must not be added to the list of HTTP ports on Mac. Adding a port number for HTTPS as HTTP will not make HTTPS filtered but may call for various issues with HTTPS instead.
Shaival 0
@Marcos Yes you are right Marcos but as of now https scanner is not avail for Mac so we are blocking secure sites with this temporary solution & it works without any issue.
Administrators Marcos 5,406 Posted October 9, 2019 Administrators Share Posted October 9, 2019 Ok, I've checked it with colleagues and you're right. However, while adding port 443 will enable filtering https websites by hostname, it may cause issues with ssl communication in certain cases. In such case the port should be removed from the list.
