TheSkymanDC 4
Is there a schedule or frequency for endpoint or agent version updates? (Not referring to A/V definitions) Knowing this will help us plan for update installation. Thanks!
ESET Insiders rekun 43 Posted December 12, 2017 ESET Insiders Share Posted December 12, 2017 Yes, I think they target 2 releases each year, one at summer, and one at winter. Version 7 should be targeted for release at Q1
TheSkymanDC 4
What about more minor updates - like 2052 to 2064?
ESET Insiders rekun 43 Posted December 12, 2017 ESET Insiders Share Posted December 12, 2017 I think they are released as needed, and not at any specific schedule

ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted December 14, 2017 ESET Staff Share Posted December 14, 2017 Hello, that is correct. ESET versioning is: G.M.VVVV.L G = GENERATION M = MAJOR V = MINOR Version L = LOCALIZATION In general, we are usually aiming to release 1-2 "major" versions of products, meaning 6.x (when the second number is increased). This means introduction of new features. Generation release (change of the first number (in this case V7), usually happens within the period of 2-3 years, but this is really high level, and might be influenced by many factors. Then the "hotfixes" or "service releases" are basically either fixing some issues reported from the market / discovered internally or eventually bringing support for the new version of the operating system (Like in case of the release for the Windows 10 RS3).
