The v16 was released in the second half of October. It is likely to be similar with v17. 👍

It doesn't have to be a direct browser add-on. Maybe it would be enough to extend the library of blocked elements in already working modules. E.g. Parental Control has a category "Online Advertising", only the blocking is very "subtle".

micasayyo gave kudos to Marcos in Interactive firewall mode poll
For almost every home user it is important that the antivirus works as much automatically as possible. Those who have been using interactive mode often complained that after updating Windows Store applications rules stopped to work. The solution are rules created by the app name and signer by default. Using application path would return the issues that users were struggling with. While we listen to you, our customers, we are also aware that we cannot please everyone and there will always be someone disappointed.

And what is the actual problem with startup scans? They are run with low priority so they should not have any noticeable effect on system performance.

micasayyo gave kudos to Marcos in SUSPECTED MEMORY LEAK egui.proxy.exe !!! Why does this process continually run?
Redirection doesn't work with Firefox 115-117. Mozzila should fix certain issue in v118. As for Chrome, we are not aware of any issues. However, using Secure-all-browsers mode is strongly recommended.

I've installed v16.2.13 from scratch and the list was populated immediately. Couldn't it be that you have imported a config. xml after installation that might have reset the list of drivers?

micasayyo gave kudos to itman in ESSP LiveGuard vs LiveGuard Advanced
    Refer to this: https://support.eset.com/en/kb6681-comparison-of-eset-liveguard-advanced-eset-threat-intelligence-and-eset-livegrid .
The main difference between LiveGuard and LiveGuard Advanced is it is designed to interface with Eset server products.
The only analysis done by LiveGrid in the Eset cloud is a file blacklist lookup. LiveGrid's primary purpose to forward suspicious files to Eset Lab for further analysis.
Feature-wise the only difference between LiveGuard and LiveGuard Advanced is LiveGuard Advanced malware detection confidence level is configurable in regards to suspicious processes allowing the user to make the decision to allow or deny execution.

micasayyo gave kudos to Marcos in Interactive Firewall useless since 16.2
Just to avoid confusion, the pre-release update channel does not contain beta modules that we would be still working on but it's modules that have passed pre-release internal tests are ready for release. That said, those are regular modules that users on the pre-release update channel receive in the first round followed by the general public after a couple of days and are released typically in batches.
For beta testing we have the Insider program in which we make new versions available months before the final release. We would like to encourage and invite advanced users who use our products with non-default settings to join the Insider program.

micasayyo gave kudos to itman in Slow network speed after installing ESSP
I repeated the speed test again this time using fast.com which is what you used for testing.
With Eset SSL/TLS scanning enabled, my download speed was 140 Mbps. With Eset SSL/TLS scanning disabled, my download speed was 130 Mbps! Based on these results, I would say something is wrong with fast.com speed measurement calculations.
Run your speed testing using this web site: https://www.speedtest.net/

micasayyo gave kudos to Marcos in Green frame for browswer
The green frame is just an indicator that the secured browser is active. Toggling the frame has no effect on the functionality, however, you will not know when it's active if you turn it off.
The difference between the isolated browser run via the desktop shortcut and the standard secured browser is that the isolated browser is truly isolated, uses a separate user profile and no extensions are loaded whereas the standard secured browser loads either all or only trusted extensions.

Those settings controlled some of the firewall rules which could not be disabled by the user in previous versions. Now that the "allowed services" settings have been removed, it's possible to disable default particular rules.

micasayyo gave kudos to Marcos in 16.2.11.0 Update Blues
Switching to the pre-release update channel should stop the firewall asking you about the communication on localhost; all communication would be allowed like it was before.
These options will be re-added in v17 later this year.

Please switch to the pre-release update channel in the advanced setup. Should you still have some issues with the firewall, please provide more details so that we could try to reproduce it by following your instructions.

micasayyo gave kudos to itman in Firewall blocking access to www.i0rp1i2j.com
    The alert shown is originating from Eset's Web Access protection. It is an IP address blacklist detection as confirmed by VirusTotal detection;

If you only receive the Eset alert when you manually access some web site, do not continue to access this web site.
Otherwise, my best guess at this point is you have a malicious extension installed in Chrome and it is trying to connect to this IP address. The extension must be removed to stop this Eset alert.
Your PC is protected since Eset blocked access to the malicious remote connection.
    -EDIT-
If this Eset alert appears w/o any browser open, have you recently installed a free or cracked game download? A number of these contain malware in the installer which will download additional malware from a compromised Google cloud store server. Open Eset "Filtered websites" log and search for entries related to this 104.155.138.21 blocked IP address. Open one of those entries and it will show what application was the source of the IP address traffic.

Switching to the pre-release update channel should resolve the communication problems. Most likely you've been using the policy-based firewall mode, other 3 modes were not affected.
