  1. Hi @slarkins

I was previously running both Era 4 and 5,and are now on v6.

Version 5 was a much more simple product, and at first sight v6 will seem a bit complex. Once you have spent some time with it, you will learn of how works, and you will appreciate all the extra features and possibilities of era 6.

For small business, the main reason for upgrading is the new endpoint and file security products, as these are much better than the old (and provide much better security) . For larger companies the new manager gives you way more possibilities than the old, and is worth the upgrade on its own.

  2. One of those irritating things about Endpoint Security is that it will disconnect your network for a few seconds when installing and upgrading to newer versions. This has caused us to stick with Endpoint Antivirus as we can't automatically deploy this to the users without breaking the stuff the user has running.

once it is installed it is running without issues. Also the firewall part were protecting from e.g. WannaCry and NotPatya, before they were even released, so it sure is improving security.

I think I read somewhere that from version 7 it should not disconnect the network anymore duo to a new way of handling the firewall part, maybe someone can confirm that?

  3. Hi

Version 7 is not "just around the corner" but should come late this year.

Endpoint version 6.6 should be released this summer.

God ahead and upgrade them right away as the protection is much better than version 5.

Era 6 is a bit of a steep learning curve, but much more scaleable flexible than version 5.
