  1. Hi Macros

The issue is not with the endpoint protection, but only with the agent/remote administrator.

It seems that you have a major issue here, even if Microsoft is to blame. Your software should be able to run a fully updated system, without the need to install special hotfixes of any kind.

I have not had any issues before making the ERA/Agent upgrades.

We are experiencing this issue on all of our 2008 R2, Windows 7 computers.

We have alot of of angry users becaurse of this with computer and serveres crashing all the time.

It seems to me, that is a big issue with quality control. Right now out computers are running unmanaged as that is the only way we can make our computers running stable.

The KB you mentioned says that this is fixed in Eset File Security, which we are using at out servers, but they were still crashing.

What is the official statement at Eset? That their product do not work without the mentioned hotfix? then this should be bundled with the installer, instead of having all your users computers crash several times a day.

  2. Hi

After having upgraded two different and unrelated customers to ERA Agent 6.2 using the Remote Administrator Component Upgrade task, the clients and servers are taking turns freezing and forcing us to do a hard reboot.

The issue happens about once a day for each client, and is very annoying. The issue appeared the same day as doing the ERA Agent upgrade.

This morning I have uninstalled the ERA agent from all computers, and we have had no issues afterwards.

Does anyone else have this issue, or have the Eset support heard of this?

  3. Hi

I would like to know if there are any plans to offer a cloud based Eset Remote Administrator to SMB customers which do not want to host their own Eset Remote Administrator.

Lets face it, the new Eset Remote Administrator is much more complicated than the old, and requires much more resources, and much more know how and time to support.

It seems that the new architecture would be able to be adjusted pretty easly to support a Eset driven cloud based management system.

Are you working on something like this, and do you have a timeframe?

  4. Hi, and thanks for replying.

I have already thought of the solution you suggests, however that is not a good solution for us.

We work as external IT consultants, and this requires me to be involved 2 times, first to create the batch file, and then later to deploy the security product.

Our customers are used to be able to be able to install the product by them self, and the new method is much more complicated and slow.

I need to make non it guys able to install this, else they will probably go the way of much easier and cheaper solutions as eg Microsoft Security Essentials

  5. Hi

As an Eset partner I have a log of small setups with 10-20 users.

I usual create install packages, so it is easy for the customers and my colleges to install their Eset product to a new computer.

Now when playing around with Eset v6, it seems to be a lot more difficult.

Is their anyway to create an install package which install both the agent and the endpoint antivirus and also activates the product?

If not, can I create an package for the agent, and then have it automatically install the antivirus and also activate the client in a reasonable time.

    Thanks in advance

  6. Hi Chadh

    Thanks for you reply.

I need to say that I am not very impressed by this. Windows 8.1 is an update which is installed by the users directly from the Store without the need of the IT department. This also Means that we have a alot users running 8.1 now, without a supported antivirus solution.

So we need to uninstall Eset at theese computers and activate the free Windows Defender? if this is the case, i guess that many users will just stay with the free av.

You already have 8.1 support for home users, and it seems to me like you have making the home users a top priority. The endpoint version is already old, and could also benefit from all the new features you have provided in version 6 and 7 for home users.

It also took you about half a year to support Server 2012, which is waaayy too long, and now againg, no idea to when you will be able to support Server 2012R2.

I think, that you need to improve your support to business users.

  7. Hi

Does Eset Endpoint products support Windows 8.1?

And what about Eset File Security and server 2012 R2?

Also, It seems that you are making a lot of improvements to the home user version woth both version 6 and 7, and I was wandering when theese will make it to the Endpoint solution?
